Hi guys.

I thought I'd share with you my journey on this Naltrexone stuff. I'm a professional music producer/DJ who's been caught up in the world of drugs and alcohol for nearly 30 years now. I'm after help. Here's my intro to the forum if you want to know more about me: http://www.thesinclairmethod.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5038. Really need to break this cycle. So these posts will be about my journey each week. I'm keeping a diary on my phone via Alcodroid and below are the results. If anyone wants to chat or has similar issues, please reply or PM me. It's all about helping each other eh. God, I really REALLY need this method to work guys. Alcohol is destroying me :(

Here's my graphs so far I've been doing this for 5 days now. I usually drink 2 bottles of wine a night (click to get a better resolution):

Day 1 and 2: (usual 2 bottles of wine)

Day 2 and 3: (wow!!!! down to 1 glass - the first time I would stop like this in 20 years!)

Day 3 and 4: (crept up)

Day 4 and 5: (bah!)

As you can see, I've shot to 2 bottles a night to 1 GLASS!!!!! But then it's kind of gone to 1 bottle. But hey, that's a miracle for me. Here's my diary thoughts..

I know Day 1 says 1 drink, but that's just the way I added it on the app (by mistake). It was actually 2 bottles.

So...

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

Day 4

Day 5 (I've just written this and while doing it, I have added another drink - so it's the same as Day 4 now)

Welcome to TheSinclairMethod Mark! Congratulations on your launch!

The effect that TSM has had so far tells me that Nal is having an impact and you will indeed be shedding the boozy chains. TSM is very up and down though, more at the beginning (aka Honeymoon), but seems to follow a pattern of a new low followed by a rebound to higher levels. I'm glad you're tracking, as this will show you that month by month both the high and low volume days are getting lower. When you notice yourself ramping back up, that's the time to start habit-busting by (for one) keeping the drink out of reach while you keep a NA substitute close at hand.

I started leaving my beer in the fridge after the first sip, then I'd get up to a little task. Eventually, I'd forget about that next sip for an hour or more. Just try to work some mindfulness/consciousness into the process wherever you can. Don't whiteknuckle or deny craving (that's the perfect time to take the Nal and wait the hour, aka "The Golden Rule"), but you can bust habits up all you want. Craving won't leave you alone until you have a drink. Habitual drinking, you can delay, distract, etc. and find some latitude. Breaking up your normal start time can help too, so wait till you actually crave a drink, then use The Golden Rule. Only one drink per session is needed for TSM to work, so for the others, tell the addicted part of your brain "Ok, ok! I'll get you your drink.... in a minute."

All that aside, so far so good! Keep it up!
