Wow, the support on this board is amazing. I have 2 weeks under my belt, and am in the middle of week 3.

First week I consumed 60 units, on the low side of average. Didn't notice any 'honeymoon effect.' Had 1 AF day, but in all fairness was due to a family emergency that I had to drive my family to hometown 8 hours away, overnight, so no time/opportunity. BUT, when I packed up the fam, I didn't throw any beers in to have on hand when I arrived, so I guess that is progress. More was cognizant that my fam needed me and I wanted to be there for them.

Week two, on travel in hometown, significantly reduced consumption, about 2/3 of week 1. Again, trying to be better for fam during crisis, but also wasn't as hard to not drink as previously experienced. felt a partial 'take it or leave it' attitude towards drinking too much. I did drink, but again was greatly reduced.

Week three, returned home. back slipped a little last night and had 10 units. Don't know why, except that I broke the Golden rule and had two glasses of wine before my nal (didn't have it with me, lesson learned) but took it when I got home, but was already mentally 'off to the races'.

Curious about the nail hangover that many have experienced. I have not experienced one yet, and it has been quite some time since I experienced a hangover--I am generally pretty good at moderating for what my body can handle (although it is admittedly excessive amounts, not bragging at all, just facts). Tend not to binge anymore (pre-TSM), so no hangovers/passing out.

Thanks for listening.

NVNG,

It sounds like you are making really good progress. I know a lot of people have a key chain with a pill in it, so if it ever comes up they always have it with them.

As for the nal. overs, I can only say for myself, they are worse than any hangover and I wouldn't even call them a hangover. You haven't experience one so consider yourself lucky. I don't know maybe some people don't, but those nal. overs have scarred me enough to stop me from over indulging. I have only had one hangover in my entire life and that is when I split a gallon of whiskey with a friend. I can tell you that a nal. over is worse than that. U. K. Blonde claims that they can be pretty unpredictable.

I love reading others progress so keep posting and remember the golden rule,

Jaba

Hi there and welcome - I did not get a Nal-Over until I had been with the Nal for many many months - I never used to get hangovers as I just do NOT do them and would stop drinking long before I had had enough to get hungover! However, with the Nal, I can now have a hangover on as few as 4 Guinness - once I even had a Nal-Over on 2 Guinness but had not had an AF day for a fair while and I think my body was just saying 'enough'. I now find, after five consecutive days, that I do not feel well - not sure if it is an actual hangover or if it is the cumulative effects of the Nal - or me noticing the nuances of my body, but I need to have a break from the Nal at least every five days - hence being AF today. I also plan on being AF tomorrow and possibly Thursday - I find it is easier than pre Nal to be AF too, which really helps!

I wish you well with this and post often - we have a great support group here .....

Hugs, Maggie x
