I would like to encourage you all that Nal does work! I am now 4 months into taking a quarter of the tablet and have come to the point where alcohol is not playing a role any more in my life. I barely remember times when I opened a bottle at home and drank it all. I do drink socially, however, now, I do sometimes leave drinks in the glass and I also drink very slowly. I do not feel like being cured - am too afraid to declare that. I do not know why, but I just feel that this whole "cure" idea is not the right way to describe success with Nal. For me, success is that I have no craving, that I do not buy alcohol to drink it alone at home and that I do not sneak at the parties to drink more than usual. The most important thing is the change in the mind when it comes to alcohol. The latter is now perceived as a nice addition to other enjoyable things (like dinner with friends) and not a goal in itself. Success, however, does not come by itself. Habit changing techniques are very important. For me, the most important habit change is not buying wine to consume it at home alone. I am working on limiting drinking at social events to one or two drinks - but that might require some more time.
Nal on!
