Ive only started TSM this weekend but so far am very happy with it. The first evening I had 3 glasses of wine but the anxious desperate need for more just wasnt there. On Friday night I had a meal out and attended a 50th Birthday party afterwards and in total had about 4 glasses of wine, again without the feeling that I had to keep drinking faster to get my quota in. My quota priviously would be drink to blackout however much that took. We were meeting friends last night and I actually fell behind everyone else drinking and ended bringing a quarter bottle of wine that I couldnt drink in the pub home with the full intention of drinking it then but when I got home I had some food as I was hungry and never got to or wanted to have the wine.

I realize this is the honeymoon period but even so Im well chuffed. Im dreading it coming to an end but at the same time Im not going to overthink it as Im positive it will work in the long term.

Hi Mario,

I read over your intro, and think you have a really good chance of success with TSM. We daily drinkers have a tougher time. The fact that you can go long periods without drinking means that extinction will probably work quickly for you. You are feeling the effects right away, and that is a very good sign.

Please keep posting; we will be very interested in your progress.

I think my honeymoon might be over. Honeymoons never last long enough do they? . ,My taste for wine is back and it appears as if Im drinking at the same pace as I always did. Its been a bit of a stressfull week at work with longer hours etc and tonight I decided to have a few drinks. Ive had about 10 units, so its not too bad but its the hiding it that I hate. However its part of this process and Im commited to it.

Hi Mario,

I am six weeks into TSM. My honeymoon lasted hardly a week; however I sit now and drink a perfectly tastless drink with a muddled buz. Meanwhile, I have been depressed and have a curious but persistent muscle tension. It is all good. This means that TSM is doing something, however unpleasant.

Carrying on ...

The history has been if you have "the honeymoon", it will work for you. Both of you have had that, so just be patient and enjoy the transition. Keep us posted - I am jealous!

I had planed on a bottle of wine this evening at home and was looking forward to it. I came home from work, took my nal I was not chomping at the bit as I thought I would be. My friend arrived and was on her third glass of wine and I still couldnt get down my first an hour and a half later. About 8pm we decided to go out for diner and I ordered a glass of wine half of which ended up staying on the table. I did my very best to try and get it down my neck and failed. Hubby was even moaning about it being a waste of money. Me, wasting money on wine, now thats a joke and a half right there. Anyway we came home and I got myself a can of cider, thats about two hours ago and its pretty warm and flat now but most of it is still sitting there looking at me. Im in bed and there is three quarters of a bottle of wine in the fridge.

I know this is probaly still the honeymoon even though I thought it was over so Im not counting any chickens untill they are hatched but this is AMAZING.

And you can help her and show her the beauties of this program...It can still be a program of attraction.

The beauty of this program,...and we alkies love this aspect, is that nobody is telling you not to drink. Thats why everybody looks at us like we have three heads....and AAers think we're simply tripping on some orange sunshine (I never was an acid head). But this I swear,..its 9.30...I took Nal a little after 9,..have a little work to do downstairs in my studio, which normally would be my drunken sanctuary, (although I'm still hiding from teh Mrs., it seems as though it's now a non issue as it is not difficult to drink very little...BUT that being said, I am not having AF days yet,...)will be what its supposed to be...a place to get work done. I will then go to our favorite restaurant where it has a great neighborhood bar, she will have a glass o wine, I will have mineral water, (already having had a brew at home), maybe have a night cap to help sleep,..and wake up refreshed, and NOT hungover...BEst, Jim

PS sorry thinking you were a guy,...you must understand though

No bother Jim.

As I said earlier Im very happy with nal and am sure it weill work long term. Im still taking 25mgs but as I have only one nal left I cant up my dose yet. My order should be here anyday though as they said 6- 8 working days and its been that allready :( . Im going out tonight with hubby and we coould have quite a few but that doesnt bother me. The nal keeps my mind clear and my memory doesnt blank out.

Everyone here differs in what they want their end destination to be, I would love to get to the stage where I can have a bottle of wine once or twice a week and to be able to have a few on holls or special events.

Just rereading the top of this post it seems like Im hoping that nal will give me a licience to drink. I suppose really I just dont want alcohol to be an issue in my day anymore. Being quit for nearly three years it was always there in my mind that I had to be so carefull and I just would like to not have to worry about it at all other than taking a nal if I wanted one and then AL being out of my mind for days on end. Am I expecting too much? The way its working in my brain with the last two weeks makes me think its possible.
