Figured I would start my progress thread. The chart below is for weeks 1-34, currently in week 35.

My intro thread:
8 months on TSM, time to chime in!

Thanks for checking! Always have taken NAL at least 1 hour before. TSM works for me, now I need to work harder!

Good to see you on the board and reporting your progress!

I'm curious about how you feel craving and habit intertwine? I am a nightly drinker and I think anxiety is a key trigger for me. Of course, too much alcohol also sparks anxiety the next day. But there is also habit. I find AF days generally difficult to force. Been at this about a year and am drinking less, but still need to cut back more.

All best wishes!

Thanks for the welcome tiller! I guess alcohol has always been used to calm nerves (easing anxiety). I think initially the learned behavior of easing anxiety turned into habitual drinking and charged by endorphins. Endorphins fuel the cravings, as TSM is blocking the endorphins, the cravings are lowered. Once the cravings are lowered, the drive to daily drinking is a strong learned habit. I had such a large drop in initial numbers and overall have been somewhat consistent (occasional spikes) since starting TSM. Triggers seem to override baseline  This is just my opinion on what is going on in my progress.

Thoughts?

Happy Monday fellow TSM'ers. Another week down... Up a few units but overall a very steady week. Friday night I went wine tasting with friends then out for a few beers afterwards. Totally in control and had great time. As in my previous post I need some AF days to start getting my units down, down down!!!

Another week in, not much to report here. Went to as baseball game for the 1st time in at least 5 years, had 3 large $10, yes $10 beers, ripoff. Overall had an awesome time, had fun and stayed in full control. I have a bobble head to prove it ;) Over units are up a few but given the baseball game this is an expected deviation from baseline.

Last night I went to a singles mixer event so that was interesting and tomorrow is a concert with friends. I can tell you how amazing it is not to worry about going to events knowing I can have drinks, be in control and have a great time. Before TSM iI would avoid these things or go, not drink and wait to get home to unload. I still had a few beers after getting home last night but it's night and day difference from what happened before.

Just wanted to add that before TSM by main drink was Vodka, I quit this and all hard alcohol before starting TSM

Keep on TSM'ers!!!

13 months and counting... still counting... never stop counting

Sorry for not checking in such a long time. Been very busy with work, family and still overall positive progress in my life. My saying for the new year and reflection on the past few years: 2011 was hell, 2012 was a personal and professional progression on all fronts and 2013 is going to be a breakout year. I truly believe TSM plus the events and consequences that led me to find this method have changed my life. Right now my units are still steady from my last post. My nightly drinking habit and familiar (living alone) environment is what keeps my units up. I do not need to drink to enjoy my life, actually quite the opposite these days.

Thanks for reading. I am back :P
