Been wanting to ask - If I drink during the day and then again at my "normal" after 5pm night-time drinking, has anyone tied taking nal twice a day, like in the morning, then again at 4 or 5 pm? Would that be too much?

50mg will cover you for 24 hours. If you typically engage in two discrete drinking episodes during the day, you might split the dose, taking each an hour before the start of the session. Taking two full doses may be fine, but it seems unnecessary and may subject you to potential increase in side effects (not to mention that its twice the expense).

Good idea Digetic - hadn't thought of splitting the dosage, thanks for the idea. I'm pretty tolerant though to all meds and wondered if I actually needed more - but that's my compulsive nature, especially when it comes to drugs and alcohol.
It's always more, more, more. I am in my 13th week and am trying to be patient.

I think there is some debate about the half-life of Naltrexone, I have read that it is 4 to 6 hours... ???

Also, I seem to recall that Dr. E recommended taking 2X50g of Naltrexone if one is drinking all day, I will try to find it in the book.

Edit: I couldn't find that in the book so it's probably best not to do that, I'll see if I can find where I read it.
