Not sure this is a good idea but it may be a great one so here goes...

Does anyone reckon a meet up would be useful? It would be nice to extend this forum into something more real. I know some people with alcohol problems are isolated due to lack of confidence, scared off friends, etc. so maybe an occassional meet up would help. I'm personally looking to develop friendship with people I can relate to as I'm fed up hiding my addiction from others. I have a good social network but I can't talk about this as I would end up a social pariah. You know what I mean.....

We are useful, interesting people and not just alcoholics!

You should require anonymity also, I think that would help it happen. I myself wouldn't be comfortable with it, but thats just me, some people would really like it i'd say.

yeah...any suggestions would be helpful I think it would work well, especially in the UK as it's smaller and easier to meet up etc.

If I were in the UK, I would definitely join you! Alas, I am way across the pond.
