I just finished my first week with TSM. (Well, I started the naltrexone on Tuesday, but wanted my week to run Mon-Sun).

I took 25 mg the first two days and then 50 thereafter - no nausea.

I had been tracking my pre-TSM drinking for a while. I found that I was very consistent on how much I drank on week nights - 6 drinks each with 3.0 - 3.4 oz 40 proof bourbon, usually for a total of around 19 oz (12.7 units/day). I'd usually start earlier and drink more on the weekend. So, I'd be at 90+ units for the week.

This week, with one pre-TSM day, I had 80 units. Other than the first day, I had one less drink than normal each week night because I fell asleep earlier. Drowsiness is listed as one of the side effects of naltrexone. I didn't really *feel* drowsy, but I fell asleep sooner and missed that last drink.

That's fine - I'll take it. Even with that small reduction in alcohol, I've felt better (less hungover) than normal and have been more productive at work.

It seems like people vary quite a bit in their response to naltrexone and that there are ups and downs. I'm looking forward to seeing what this week brings my way.

I think you may have hit on something there - sleeping pills! You can't drink if you're asleep, right?

Great to hear you're making progress.

I made a bit more of a reduction in week 2. My biggest accomplishment was that I was able to make my weekend drinking like my week night drinking. I didn't start earlier and drink more, as I normally have.

I hope I don't regress from here, but I know that many do. Even with the relatively small reduction so far, I am feeling so much better.

I made just a slight reduction in week 3 vs week 2. That's OK - it's still progress.

Another small decrease in week 4. I've got a long way to go yet, but I feel like I'm slowly climbing out of the hole I dug for myself. I've started doing some things that I used to enjoy that I had gotten away from the past year or so.

Another week, another small decrease in drinking. After 5 weeks, I am now drinking 1/3 less than pre-TSM. I've still got a long ways to go, but I am really happy how things have gone so far. I feel so much better!

Good luck to all!

Another week, another small decline. I feel like I am getting my life back. I've started to DO things other than just sit around and drink. I'm going to try to take a little bigger step down this week.
