Your numbers seem to me to be normal brit0ny, keep going we're all on the same road. I noticed the cravings. :)

You seem to be having the 'honeymoon' period so many of us have spoken of on here, where cravings and consumption are reduced initially. Expect both to rise, perhaps, BUT the fact that you're getting this reaction to Nal with drinking means that it's having quite an effect!!

All the best to you Brit, looking forward to following your progress, being a little bit of support if ever needed, as others have been to me on this wonderful site, and very hopefully seeing you CURED in four plus months :D

And thank you for posting your progress thread. Please keep us updated!!

All the best

eight :)

Thanks you two.
Every bit of encouragement helps.
Last night was strange. I had NO cravings whatsoever but could not go to sleep.
Around 4 am I finally gave in and drank. It took 3 glasses of wine to make me sleepy and I went to bed.
I guess my body is so used to being put to sleep it just can't do it without the alcohol yet.

Yep, our bodies get used to this extraordinarily harmful chemical. It fills in alot of places. Keep plugging away though.

I know this is "normal" but still do not feel good about it. Did any of you have to ask your doctor for something to help you sleep? My sleep is turned upside down and I don't know how to get back on schedule.
Many thanks,
Brit

My units have been increasing too, Brit. We started on exactly the same day. It's just your brain doing it's thing, chasing the buzz. I choose to think of it as good - clearly my brain and body are having a response to the medication. It's the being patient in the meantime that's hard. I am also struggling with the question about sleep meds as I would occasionally like to take an Ambien but I think it's been suggested here that it is a bad idea? You might try melatonin - it's a natural supplement that works very well and should be OK alongside the Nal. Much cheaper than a prescription as well ;) I hope you keep posting as we make our way to success.

3 al free days (4 if I don't have any tonight)

I think the al free days may stem in part due to the shock that I got Monday night/morning.
My brother who also drank for most of his life took the ultimate means of quitting alcohol, he blew his brains out.
This has been such a shock as I never even saw him show any signs of depression.
I had not been in touch with him much for the past couple of years as the way things go in families but I always worried about his health because he was a 24/7 drinker. Beer all day then liquor at night. I worried about all of that but never ever would I have thought I would get a call to say that he committed suicide, and it really, really hurts. :(
RIP brother.
Brit

Brit -- I am so sorry for your loss. I am brand new to this forum, but I've found already that this community is as caring and supportive as any I've encountered in the "real world", so I hope you can feel it's a safe-haven in the days ahead when you need one. With all my sympathy -- Sabrina

I am so sorry Brit. My own brother has been on a path of self-destruction for many, many years and I dread a similar call. My heart goes out to you and I hope you'll be able to say with us on this forum and the TSM journey.
