week 16 update:

not the best of weeks - working nights always screws me over & I end up drinking in order to sleep :( oh well, no more nights for a while, the forecast is looking nice for this week & the clocks go forward soon, so I should be able to be a bit more mindful

Badger: I seem to do the same as I am so used to using alcohol to initially get to sleep when I don't drink much or at all I cannot sleep a wink. Last night I had 2 glasses of wine, was tired at 8:30PM but by the time I went to bed at 11pm I just tossed and turned. Ended up getting up and watching TV until 1:30am and struggled with having more alcohol to get me to sleep.

Badger - glad that you are feeling hopeful - I am champing at the bit to feel better about my intake - thinking more should be happening - so it is good to read your posts and know that I am doing fine - if that makes any sense ? The ironic thing is that when I drink, I sleep terribly ! Maybe that is a good thing .....

Cheeto - sorry about your sleepless night too ..... last night I popped a muscle relaxant that I had had in my medicine cupboard for three years !! Only woke up three times in the night ... but was groggy this morning - not good !! Hope that you are doing well ?

Badger - if I wanted to put my graph on here, how do I do that? (don't you love us non technical folk ???)

Hugs, Maggie xx

yep, makes sense :)

I'm doing okay, in spite of my somewhat up-&-down recent weeks, if I step back I can see that I am *so* far away from where I was when I started TSM back in Nov last year. I'm definitely in this for the long haul - I'm not in the "pour half the third drink away" camp (yet?) - but I'm confident that the science of TSM has plenty left to beat my rat into submission with

it's a bit convoluted - you have to extract the graph from the spreadsheet as an image, upload it to an image-hosting site & link to it from here. if you want to send me your spreadsheet each week, I can do that for you & send you a link to put in your progress posts

week 17 update:

another week of way too much drinking :( I'm back in the cycle of drinking to sleep, then drinking to feel better the next day, which is just a downward spiral. I'm having a moderate/taper day today, then I'm going do a couple of AF days - forced if necessary - to break myself out of it

Aw badger, that's not a nice cycle to be in. I'll be thinking of you.

Badger - I feel for you but know that you can and will do this !!! Oh and I am not going to worry about putting my graph on here - it got way too complicated and I couldn't work out how to send it to you - it didn't have an address to copy and paste - so no worries!!

Sorry that you went up last week - but great that you are feeling positive again this morning - I know the feeling !!! hang in there - you CAN and will do this in the end !! I know you will .....

Hugs, Maggie x
