Week 26-14.75 units. Pretty good numbers to report considering I'm back home from my vacation. I've now completed 6 months of this protocol and I believe its time to step back and evaluate things. It's obvious to me I'm a different man then when I first started TSM protocol. It's still fresh in my mind all the foolish, dangerous, time wasting behaviors I used to indulged in on a daily basis. I was an alcoholic who had medicated himself into a state of comfortable numbness for so long it was the only lifestyle I knew. The discovery of TSM was a life saver and to think it was all by luck of running into a therapist at the beach. At first I experienced weird and mild unpleasant side effects. I considered them nothing compared to the dangerous path alcohol was taking me to. Compliance became easier and there became noticeable benefits of the protocol that kept my attention and me eager to embrace this path. Early on I found myself no longer the maniac driven by the drink. I still drank and got drunk every night. But that rat lever pressing emotion was being crippled. At this time, even thou my numbers hadn't changed that much. It was the subjective experiences that really helped me continue on. I termed this subjective experience has a added mindfulness. It was new and different and kept me separated from identifying or yoking myself with the buzz. As time went by, the numbers began to speak for themselves. The trend became down, significantly down. The extinction process that began continued to automatically de-condition my life long alcohol habit. It seemed to function on its own schedule. I was never able to predict on a week to week basis how things would turn out. Even to this date it continues to grow exponentially stronger and at its own pace. At the end of six months, I've decided to continue on with TSM protocol. Their will be no deliberate forcing of anything but following the protocol. No reason for me to think it's not done with its magic. I've ordered another 3 month supply from alldaychemist. This will allow me to take it out to 9 months. At that time I will re-evaluate things.....So....lets look at this weeks numbers. I ended up going out 1 time to a party situation. I knocked down 4 beers which is a far cry from my normal 6 or 8. That left 10.75 light beers for the remaining 6 days which is my third lowest posting to date. Pretty amazing from where I stand. That my life has changed so much in a short 6 months. I wasn't a fast responder, but I'm responding to my own unique time schedule. I kept the course, I didn't fail and it's paying off. In signing out....I want to wish you all the best of luck. To all future participants, you are not here by accident. Take this seriously, apply it and come back home. You can do it!.. Peace...... Start TSM 4/10/14, pre TSM probably between 60 and 70, going as high as 85 units per week for months straight. ............. Wks:
1-52.5.......... 11-42.75.............21-21.75, 2 af
2-52.5.......... 12-36.75.............22-23, 1 af

Week 27, 19.5 units, 2 af. Only a few things to report this week. I was in a party situation 2 nights for 10.5 beers. I've been real steady in the past with the lion share of the weeks numbers happening in these situations. It started out around 18-20 then fell to 14 or so. Now I believe the nal has become a little tighter because this weeks numbers were only 10.5. Its been dropping all on it's own, just as the good Dr. said it would. It's still been enjoyable, the going out, socializing and dancing, etc. In fact, it's been more enjoyable as I find myself doing what I want to do and not what the alcohol wants to do. The second thing I'd like to mention...... the 2 af days I experienced were effortless. Absolutely no problem at all. It produced an experience of maybe this is how it should always be. Very calm, peaceful and enjoyable, go figure? What brought it on was, I was having a tooth pulled and I didn't want the nal to interfere with any of the pain medication they might be giving me. I just chose to not take the nal and not drink. I could of never made that decision before and not second guessed it, hated it in the past, never. That's about it for this week. In signing out, TSM protocol continues to do it's magic and give me back my life. It took the maniac craving away at first and is now slowly dismantling my habits associated with my drinking. Just like it's suppose to, no conscious effort. What a bonus ugh?......Peace........Start TSM 4/10/14, pre TSM probably between 60 and 70, going as high as 85 units per week for months straight. ............. Wks:

Such utterly great stuff to read,I'm 9 days in and intend to follow this just as you have done. I don't expect to be a fast responder but since you have taken so much time detailing your own journey, it gives much needed support for us who follow you guys who have had success.

Week 28- 17 units, 3 af. I experienced 1 of those nights where I just wanted to get out of mind. You know where you turn up the music a little louder then normal. You have 1 thing on your mind and its not staying normal? I used to have them a lot before the nal. I ended up drinking 5 beers and had a lil smoke. It was like the old days and enough to get me where I wanted to be. I had 2 other party situations and had 5 beers each time. I've mentioned before that the nal produces an added mindfulness in me. Thus allowing me to participate and socialize more. I'm coming to realize that their are certain truths from a soberer viewpoint that I need to implement to up my game. I now know that the majority of these people don't drink like I use too. Being in shape and presenting yourself well is important. An obvious one is that hot chicks aren't attracted to alcoholics who are out of shape. I guess my mind is maturing with regards to my social responsibilities thanks to the nal. I'm thinking its these and more realizations I'm having that caused my mind to flip flop and ended up giving me 3 af days in a row. For some reason I had a strong discust for alcohol the remainder of the week. Isn't that weird that my mind is all over the place? Or is it totally normal for a brain that is healing itself regardless of the navigator to seek normalcy? So 17 beers, 3 af days, my reality for following TSM protocol for 202 days with full compliance. I've been getting down into what the book refers to as safe drinking limits. My desire is down so much that I lean on the side of abstinence as a future wish. Man .....has my mind changed a lot since starting TSM. I received my shipment from alldaychemist, it was fast, a little over 2 weeks. I have invested a little over $700 in my recovery. I've saved much more then that in not having alcoholic purchases like I use too. The regaining of my life has been priceless. In ending....stay the course my friends, the extinction process works if you allow it too. Peace........Start TSM 4/10/14, pre TSM probably between 60 and 70, going as high as 85 units per week for months straight. ............. Wks:

The evidence speaks for itself. I'm looking forward to a similar journey to you PlantPro, really pleased for you.

I've been a bit worse this week (week 3) as been downing 2 bottles of red daily in the evening although I have not been gulping as I have done pre-TSM and have been more "conscious" of my drinking.

I'm praying this is just a blip although been under a lot of stress and have possible job security issues at the moment, like so many of us.
My cravings seem to be diminishing but I think I have still been wanting to drink on other levels.

Fingers crossed these little pills are still heading me in the right direction.

Keep up the good work PlantPro and glad you're enjoying getting your life back, slowly but surely. This is great news and gives hope to us all.

All the best.

Ty.....Stay the course, remember this isn't a conscious mind battle. Be compliant and never wavier in following the Golden rule. No matter what temporary sensations you may feel, realize they are only temporary and will pass. Keep a good journal and your path to wholeness will become obvious. Trust the science. You can do it.

Plantpro way to go!

I like seeing people's progress, as it's very encouraging, and your numbers look pretty much like a classic extinction curve.

I'm wondering are those US units or UK in your diary? I'm just finishing my first week of tracking my drinking (no NAL yet) and it was a little scary. Seems like you forget pretty quick when you don't write it down. 51 units (US) in six days, five actually because I had an AF day.

Ty all. I go by American units which I believe is around 4.2 alcohol % by volume in 12 ounces. A bottle of bud lite= my current drink of choice= 1 unit

Gotcha thanks! I tend to drink the same Bud or Coors light, both 4.2%

I'm not getting bogged down by details, but I figured I should record a baseline while waiting for my NAL to arrive. I don't know how many times I've been asked by my doc and just sorta come up with a number that sounded reasonable, when the real answer should have been beats the firetruck outa me doc I wasn't counting.........
