You'll have to upload it to www.imageshack.com and then use the Img button in the post a reply window. In between the brackets copy and paste the direct link url from the newly uploaded image. I hope this helps. There is a how to on this posted somewhere on the board if you search it.

Wahoo it worked. First attempt at a graph. Would like to work out how to have 2 different legends with the AF days bar graphs in the background. But ...never the less....Wahoooo...I did it.

Thanks St Vincent and Yogagirl for your help with this.

Now that I know how....I have made a prettier graph. This is fun...and much easier to see progress visually.

Hi Kiwichick

I'm a Kiwi too, living in Parnell. I have read all your posts with interest. Congratulations on doing so well!! I'm a mum too - my boys are 12 & 9. I have been around AA for most of the last 17 years, but the longest periods of sobriety i have had have been 2 years & also 10 months. There's been quite a few 6 months too but eventually I pick up again. As time has gone on of course the consequences have got worse. Last week I thought I could just have 1 or 2 (haha!) & ended up on a 2 day bender in my car. Not great mothering skills, not to mention being a wife & having 3 businesses to run with my poor long-suffering husband! Fortunately I am mostly sober & there for everyone. There is some great support in AA but i feel like such a failure when i drink because I try as suggested to hang out with the women (& men) who have been sober a long time. I'd love to be able to have the occasional drink or few without going overboard, or to be abstinent and be happy with that long term.
I did actually take nal years ago, but on the instruction  to not drink as the professionals say in NZ. It made me feel permanently nauseous and didn't reduce the cravings. Not sure how many weeks i took it for then eventually threw the rest out. Since then i heard of TSM and am in the process of getting a script thru a GP who works at the Bridge. Did you get yours thru CADS? Am nervous that if it does help i may not be able to get any more.
Hoping this might work for me.
Thanks to all the other members out there for all the posts too.

Cheers
Sticky

Kiwi, now that graph is a thing of beauty. Whenever I look at someone's TSM chart I think to myself, I wouldn't want that to be my stock portfolio. Unlike the stock market your graph won't start to trend up again, only down further. Great progress. Thanks for sharing.

Hey Thanks St Vincent !

Sticky, I honestly believe you have found the solution. I have never been to AA as I have never wanted to abstain. I have always wanted to be able to have a few drinks with friends and socializing (around al) has always been a big part of my adult life. But alas this meant I had many sessions where my behavior was not characteristic and I've done things I'm not proud of. I've got wonderful friends that have put me in taxis many many times... It's horrendous. So while u have been trying to go straight... I've been making an arse out of myself and simply didn't think there was a solution.

Prior to TSM I was drinking at least one bottle of wine every night.... And on Fridays and Saturdays it could be up to 2 bottles. I was a 'functioning alcoholic' ... I have never had the urge to drink in the morning or during the day (except at appropriate lunches) and I have held down a great career... Noone around me thought I had a problem... Only my close friends knew I 'didn't know when to stop when I went out'.

Now... 6 months into TSM I'm almost completely in control. I have at least 2 Alcohol free nights every week.. And sometimes MANY more like last week when I had 5 !!! I still have triggers, but they are dying!!! Yay!

Sticky, probably the toughest thing for you is going to be explaining to your husband that u need to Drink to do TSM. Perhaps you should get him to read the book and read this website? In answer to your question... Yes I got My script from CADS. It was an interesting experience going to the clinic and sitting in a waiting room with mostly unemployed people who look like they 'live rough' .... It was an eye opener!
They said up front that I would only be able to get 6 months prescription (in 2x 3 month lots) .... But now that I've been back to get my second lot of 3 months and they've seen my results... The psychologist said I would be able to get the drug indefinitely. (and it's fully subsidized thru cads)

Please keep in touch. Its a bit of a rollercoaster ... But I honestly believe it is THE ANSWER! All the best sticky.

Kiwi. :P

Nice chart and good results! I do find using a chart is very useful, especially if you are a 'visual' type person. It makes it very clear how much progress you have made compared to some list of numbers.

FYI: You can also post charts and other images to http://imgur.com/, which makes it about as simple as it can be.
