Hey guys,

I just wanted to state that I'm coming on month 9 1/2 or so,....

If I had been drinking without NAL, I KNOW I would be a basket case as I have been in the past.

I had to lead a band this past weekend and I had two beers during the gig, broke down (I had to do PA) complete rig, completely sober and drove home. Last year, I can remember getting trashed after the gig, breaking down my gear and leaving crap behind, etc etc etc...Now I will say this, I did mix a Beam and coke this past weekend for the ride home but that was it. Came home sober, but had a few drinks though. SO in a way it was catch up time, fell out asleep buzzed. SO I am still far from cured but the urgency is starting to leave and DOMD's comment actually helped about pushing away from the pool.

Last year, I drove drunk many times, this year rarely and lately not at all.

TSM works but you sometimes have to be real patient as Nick says.

I think most of us alkies are used to instant gratification because thats how drugs USUALLY work. In this case, Nal doesn't. It takes time. I will be posting my progress soon on my thread....Best, Jim,
PS I hope that helps, and Mario, My friend Jerry sends his best. He is stable and at 4-6 a day...totally blocked his relapse from spinning out of control.

Final question though, can you answer how you'd be doing WITHOUT Nal?

Thanks Jim, I was actually planning on asking you about your friend. Im delighted to hear he is doing well. As to you question about how I would be without nal, it doesnt bear thinking about. I would binge all weekend through to Monday and then whiteknuckle it from Tuesday to Friday (on a good week which were becoming less and less) only to do it all again. I know for a fact that tsm is working for me, its made huge differences to my cravings and units. I know its going to take time and hopefully this was an extinction burst.

Im not drinking at all today and have absolutly no cravings and I hopefull will be alcohol free untill Friday. I suppose what I was most upset about was that the weeks I had little or no craving I really couldnt imagine they would ever come back at the strength that they did. Anyway onwards and upwards.

Week 18 approx
Friday night 1/2 bottle of wine and 2.5 pints of beer over about 6 hours. Very happy with this.
Saturday night finished up with no drinks other than the one I had with diner. Yesterday was a beautifull day. Without nal I would have been drinking or at the very least craving a drink from about noon onwards. I took my nal about 5pm and had four 500ml cans of beer between that and midnight. I even walked the dogs about 8pm for three quarters of an hour. Prior to tsm that would be unheard of for me to leave my alcohol for any reason let alone walk the dogs so Im absolutly thrilled with nal again. The whole thing is a bit of a see saw but its definatly working.

Hope everybody is doing well.

Excellent news, Mario. You don't know me as I was one of the earliest (and most active) members, but life got hold of me and I had to stop posting to get caught up with it. I'm 16 months in, and my drinking is drastically reduced - not to where I want it, but that's only because I'm pouring a glass of wine every night simply out of habit, with no real craving behind it at all. That's stopping today!

I do believe you are going to be a great TSM success story - you have all the makings of one.

Thanks Goin4,

I think I must have read most of your posts here.

Hubby asked me if I would go out for a drink with him tonight but I had no craving whatsoever so I passed. Now thats a real turn up for the books, me refusing to go to the pub.

Delighted you are feeling optimistic about Nal again! it definitely is a bit of a rollercoaster.
Bye the way i had a letter from the Irish medicines Board today re the confiscation- it totally freaked me out- i hate to think of my name being down somewhere.

sorry to hear about that SBTS - I'd be interested in hearing more about it if you don't mind telling (via pm maybe), as I'll probably need to place another order in the next month or so.
