Such amazing numbers Curi! You really give great hope to people who don't want to remain abstinent forever.

Hello Curi,

I'm just amazed at your progress. It must feel wonderful to go AF and not care. It seems you should be on the cured list, if not now, very soon.

Best,

Hi Curi, your progress is just fantastic. It seems a very short time ago that you were posting to ask advice on whether it would be a good idea to start TSM after such a long time sober. You must be glad you did :D

Thank you, Sticky, Nalway and Gwn!

Yes, Gwn, I am glad I did, SO gald! The longer I am on TSM the more I realise how effing miserable I was when abstinent, I wish I had known about TSM then, it takes so much of the gloom out of everything. Though, to be fair, I probably wouldn't have had such an easy time on TSM if I hadn't been sober already. There is no doubt that I couldn't continue drinking the way I was, I was slowly killing myself but the depression I experienced during abstinence almost killed me too. The prevailing mind set in abstinence treatments is fundamentally damaging, I think. I think they have it wrong or at least it was wrong for me. I will write more about that at another time.

I had a great holiday and I actually drank a lot less than I expected to, I was so pooped after excursions and daily activities that a glass of wine at dinner was all I wanted, and more often than not, I struggled to finish it. Last night I had dinner at friends' I had 4 or 5, I took only 12.5 mg and felt fine, this is more than I would usually drink but still ok, I think, I had no compulsion to drink more than that and left wine in the bottom of my glass, I don't think I will ever stop appreciating how awesome that feeling of having enough, is!! Today I don;t have a hangover, which I normally would on 25 mg.

From now on I am going to take 12.5, if I see too much of an increase in units, I'll go back to 25 mg.

Why doesn't Dr. Sinclair have a Nobel prize?! Why isn't TSM the standard treatment for alcoholism?! It's infuriating!!

Curi
