Hi HG and everyone

Hopefully my graph will magically appear now!

I do still have cravings to drink every 2nd night, but once I start I do seem to continue out of habit until I need to sleep. Not feeling fantastic today after more than a bottle of wine last night, but not too bad. Will try for 2 AF days - that seems easier than trying to stop at 4 drinks at the moment.

Cheers

Wow - it worked! Except the graph only went up to last week. At least I know I can do it now...

Oops, I didn't mean to offend Sticky, so sorry -- your graph is correct. I was just reading how positive your experience was on naltrexone and then saw your graph which showed you went way up in drinking so I was confused. My mistake! Old post deleted.

Hi Sticky, happy birthday again for last Wednesday! Hang in there, your numbers for the last 3 weeks are starting to stabilise. Once you do that you can have a better crack at slowly reducing them and remember you are coming into a stage where TSM should start making a tangible difference. Up to now your figures are a real rollercoaster but hopefully you should start to get a bit of consistency and then you can really start to wittle away the number of drinks per week. Hang in there and hope you have a great week.

Hey sticky, I want to share with you what my graph would look like for the first 17 weeks on TSM if I had abstained the week before I started instead of drinking 60 units. Notice my exponential trendline is going up. There are others with similar experiences here (Bob3D and Q for example). You are doing fine, it's still early in the process, take heart, gird your loins, you will get there. Several studies done on naltrexone and even as needed naltrexone (TSM style) stop at 12-16 weeks. No surprise they conclude weak or no effects on reducing drinking. If it weren't for some of the people on this board and their stories I may have given up on TSM at week 11. Keep that chin up.

Great post St. V! Sticky, you had the honeymoon period so you definitely respond to nal. Just wanted to let you know that I'm rooting for you. It may not seem like it's working right now, but nal is probably working its magic behind the scenes.

Hi everyone

It wasn't the best of weeks with a binge on Tues/Wed leaving me feeling like crap. Will need to try and exert some more control somehow! Passed out on the couch at some ungodly hour on Tues & drank during the day on Wed too. Not good!
I have taken the first 3 weeks out of my graph but am having trouble copying the forum link so don't know if it will show here.
I hope everyone is going well and have a great weekend!

Cheers
Sticky

Hi again

Forgot to say a big thank you to Tambo, St V, WJ and of course HG for your support. It makes a big difference to know we are doing this together!

Cheers

Hi Sticky, thanks for your post. What were your pre TSM figures/week like? I bet what your figures are now are a significant reduction of that. I think we can become a bit preoccupied with figures in TSM and ignore other benefits which are just as, if not more, significant part of the program. Ie changing attitude to alcohol, improved behaviour around alcohol, fewer pass outs, better engagement with family, improved reliabilty, better degree of honesty, etc. Remember how you were able to drive yourself home from your own 50th birthday? I am not ignoring that you've had a bad week, but it is just one week in a long program, so chin up. What lead to your binges? You have to examine that and resolve not to give yourself permission to binge. If you feel like you are tempted to maybe try to delay as long as possible and perhaps the feeling will pass. We are all in this together Sticky, hope we all have a better week this week!
