ONM,

It is amazing how the NAL works slowly but steadily for some and fast and furious for others. I look at Ocean's comments and I know that he was a truly heavy drinker and he responded extremely fast. I started - after another obnoxiously drunk and out of control business trip - and proceed to drink even more than normal for a couple of weeks. Then it just started slowly taking effect. Still having troubles at the big events - but I am working on that!

My tolerance came from a LOT of practice. When I was younger (teens) we used to count how many beers we could drink in a night. Sorta a badge of honor to be the last man standing. As I got older, I very seldom made it to last man standing - but I always went down guzzling!

I am truly hoping that this is not a late honey moon!

Week 19 report. Not nearly as good as week 18 that is for sure. But not to bad either. I spent a lot of time at the beach and in social situations this week and that normally - or should I say "normally used to" leads to an all day drink fest or two. And that did not happen. I was in control the whole time this week even though my UNIT numbers went back up to 36. Half of that came from one night having 3 double Capt and Cokes with my wife and 3 glasses of wine with her another night. Those two nights came to 18 units. The rest of the week I stuck to beer and was okay with my intake. So the unit count this week was 36 and 1 AF day. Daily 4,0,4,5,12,4,7.

Would love to have all great weeks like 18 - but no complaints from me. Noticed I lost about 9 pounds over the last several months. Finally started running again recently. Not gonna blame the NAL for my lack of exercise because I often went through long spells where I could not get my self to lace up the running shoes. I did blame my drinking for a lot of those days in the past - so maybe I am just lazy!

Goals for this next week is to try to get into the "normal range" of 20 or so units. Stay away from mixed drinks and wine.

I really do feel good - make that great - about my progress on TSM. Before wandering onto this site and the TSM I thought I was destined to spend the rest of my life the way I spent most of my life - drunk, hungover, remorseful, and repeat until they buried me with a drink in my hand.

Oh Reboot, that sounds really good - I know what you mean about units going up though - and your week before this one was amazing - but as you said, you were in control all the time this past week. Mine too has gone up and down - as Jaba said to me it is the roller coaster ride of TSM. But we are all slowly moving forward! Which is a great feeling. What does your wife think about the changes in your drinking ? Bet she is really pleased ! Wonderful to hear that you are doing so well and sounding so positive - very happy !!

Hugs, Maggie x

Reboot,

I think you are doing great, for I can see that you have more control...GOD BLESS NAL AND THIS PROCESS!

What I find so amazing is that even after a spell of drinking everyday, I have no issues doing an AF day. The habit of taking the nal. and pouring a drink was nothing more than habit, for once I am AF I have no desire to drink. I might have a faint thought, but nothing that makes me want to run and buy a bottle or two. It looks like you are getting there as well.

Keep up the good work for it look amazing,

Jaba
