I think you really are going to have to take the pressure off yourself. It seems as though you're mind's constantly whirring and it's hard to live life like that. Give yourself a break from thinking, reading, analysing and stressing about it all. You don't have to make a decision today or tomorrow or next week. Accept that you're not yet ready to go AF but that by following TSM you're putting the necessary steps in place so that you can choose that down the line if that's what you want. It's going to take a while to get to a place where you can truly make an informed decision...3 to 4 months at a minimum if we believe Eskapa but maybe even up to a year. In that time extinction will take place and your desire and craving for alcohol will lessen. You will then be a good position to decide whether you want to go all out AF or shoot for moderation. At the moment, a few AF days seems to initiate a craving which you then view as a failure and the whole cycle starts again.

I know it's easy for me to say, but you really need to give yourself a break. Relax and let the method work.

Have a good week.

Ruth.

This process takes time, a lot of time just as it took time to build up the initial dependency. TSm is all about drinking as you feel if you want to pop in a few AF days then do so, if it becomes a struggle then I don't think you are ready for AF time so just carry on. My first AF days on TSM well I knew I wanted them, it was scary and I had to do a few things like remove booze from the house, go to bed early to prevent me from going out to buy some BUT there was no should I, shouldn't I?Once I got over the initial drinking time hump, it was fine, no issue at all.

I think you could stop wishing hubby didn't drink, it's detracting from you. It's something you can't change, but you can change your drinking and perhaps it might eventually rub off.

BV,

Here you say "its easier to make choices with Nal" but in other threads you say if you take the Nal you must drink or you won't be following the science behind TSM. Seems conflicted.

Babs,

Reading your posts have been an inspiration to me and I wish you all the best! It's kinda odd b/c I'm new to this and I feel that through the posts I've gotten to know some of you, it's kinda sad to say good-bye but I'm so very happy that you've found it in yourself to go AF - that means there is hope for all of us. Like you my husband drinks and doesn't seem to have an issue with it like I do, I've decided that we both have to seperately work our own 'program', he understands that and doesn't pressure me anymore - which is a big help.

God bless you and if you ever decide (and feel strong) to check in please do!

Marianne
