Well craving, whatever the reasons, you are now counted among our success stories - and we will make full use of that!

Successes:

N101CS
SpringRider
potato
craving

Others? Lena?

As this is a 4-6 month program, and this forum is still not yet 4 months old, I'd say we're doing grrreeaatt! Everyone who started early, and stuck to the program, is now either succeeding, or noticing very distinct progress. I think, just as significantly, that all of us who started on naltrexone have noticed that even when we're drinking, we're not acting like drunks, or having the experiences common to drunks - hangovers, withdrawal symptoms, self esteem in the dumpster, foggy thinking even when sober, etc. My BF and I are spending less than half the time at bars as we did before - it just doesn't appeal to us in the same way.

This is a different kind of progress, but progress nonetheless. We've emotionally/mentally disconnected from 'stinkin' thinkin'. I think this must be the visible part of the de-addiction process now taking place on a cellular level.

Craving -- Thanks for generously allowing us to be a part of your success.

Yours is an important success story for many reasons. It's great to see a young person nip it in the bud, without the drama and hell of crash-and-burn life experiences, failed rehab, etc.

Eskapa discusses using TSM as a prophylactic means for potential alcohol addicts to avoid addiction. While you are not exactly an example of that, it is good to have an example of someone who saw trouble and quickly and painlessly got his drinking under control. Some of us have children who are young adults and anyone with alcohol addiction is wary of red flags in the drinking habits of their progeny. We now can share the miracle of nal drinking if we see trouble, rather than just watch helplessly. Not all will go along (G4M, your daughter . . . some day?) but there is much more hope than before.

Thank you so much for sharing. Stay with us.

Goin4More and Lena and LaBear,

Thank you so much for your posts - you really made my day!

I do not consider myself "healed" yet. I have it under control now, and I see improvements, but I think you really need 2-3 years to say safely that your habbit has no control over you anymore.

For my part, I will not drink anymore without Nal, as I strongly believe into its positive effects. Its positive effects are far more than the "craving reduction" - but the most important part is that it gives you your live back. With each day you keep on taking it, it will give you a small piece of your live back.

The biggest problem for me was to accept that I have a problem. From the moment I accepted it, I was able to start getting it under control.
I knew before that I had a problem, but I did not accept it - or I did not wanted to realize it - as the only therapy available beside TSM would have been to quit totally.

I will stick with this forum and keep on posting as it helps me to save all important information regarding this topic at one place. And I will repeat myself now ... I do not consider myself "healed" ... lets see how the next 2-3 years work out!!

Thank you all so much for your help. Without this forum I would have never learned about Nal and all its aspects. You gave me back my live.

Thursday - AF

Well, craving, for the purposes of this forum you will be considered currently cured. Down from 35 upw to 5? That is way below what is considered safe levels for women! I'm betting all of you who have 'made goal' will be doing this well, or better, a few years down the road!

Going4More,

The last line of my signature is always the current week.

Last week have been 9 US units, like the week before ...
