I have always encouraged discussion including "off topic" discourse on "my thread". Feel free to discuss whatever you want; you have my whole-hearted blessing.

I have to do some research, but I don't recall congratulating your success, BGH! So, congrats!

The 'fat doctors' reminded me of something I see in Florida all the time; smoking nurses (male and female). I'm not sure that non-smoking RN or LPN's exist. (I'm sure they do, but I haven't noted any). The point here is that when I've asked nurses why they smoke, they invariably admit they shouldn't, but their jobs are just too stressful. Hmmm. What else is good for stress... self medication with alcohol perhaps? That's how a lot of us got into our problem in the first place. Never mind those of us who have psychiatric conditions that we have to be treated for. And to get back to the original comment, many people eat to counter stress, so excessive eating leads ultimately to obesity. Seems we have a pattern here.

Bob

Bob, wow, what a travesty of injustice. Big Brother truly is watching us. It's very scary to think that not only can a pre-existing "condition" disqualify you from getting medical insurance, but that treating (successfully) an illness can prompt the state to revoke your driver's license!!! When will it end?? I wish you the best with that. You have a much better attitude about it than I would. I'm just waiting to get the same letter.

houtx, funny you mention fat doctors. I recently saw a cardiologist for some tests and she was huge. I mean, morbidly obese huge. If she were a dermatologist, I wouldn't think twice. But a cardiologist? The ultimate oxymoron.

I received some good news today: The State of Florida has determined that I am allowed to continue my driving privilege for one more year at which time I will need to fill out another questionnaire by a health care professional certifying that I am still not addicted to alcohol or drugs. And remember everyone, I have no DUI's, no stops, and not even an arrest record for my entire life. I feel privileged and honored.

Bob

PS My One Year TSM Anniversary is March 14/15. I will post my monthly graph at that time for one years worth of data. Also, my signature line is now being updated.

Good news! Though you never should have had to go through this in the first place.

Another AF day today, so I thought I'd jump the gun and post my 1 year anniversary graph by quarter:

Image

Pre-TSM, I was drinking 6 to 8 units per night.
For the entire treatment through one year, I consumed 753 units total.
This past week I consumed 2½ units, I didn't feel like finishing the 3rd beer.

What a difference a year can make. And what a ride! Most times, I felt like it wasn't going to work. Some times, I felt like giving up and trying another treatment. But I stuck with it and look where I am now. I have been transformed into a better person through the success of TSM.

I hope and wish all of you the same success!

Bob

Hi Bob, so very happy for you. I have given up on tsm as there wasn't any success at all for me. I do check in here occasionally just to see how the old gang is doing. Some really are close to my heart. Lot's have left that started when I did so it's a bit different. You and I struggled together, wish I had the miracle too. I am doing much better, but it's the white knuckle approach, lol, still not at a good level. What a life changing experience for you again my very best, happy anniversery!

houtx & laBear:

Every time I continue to post my progress, I initially hesitate because I silently feel bad that for some good folks it doesn't work. I wish TSM had a 100% success rate but unfortunately it's not perfect.

I continue to post and display these graphs to give hope to those who feel like it's not working, but have not had enough time in the TSM treatment. You just can't tell when it will happen. During my week 17/18, I thought it doesn't work, but it suddenly did. I just want people to continue through their times of doubt and let it work if it is going to work.

Bob

Yes, what a difference a year can make! Congratulations, not only is this making your life better, just think of the inspiration you are providing to others.
