Tweed - SO happy to see you again and thank you for coming and catching us up - only today I was talking to another member on the forum who said that she felt sad when people drifted away and we do not know what happens to them ....I am really happy that you came back and caught us up. I can think of at least three folk who will be really pleased to hear your news!

And I finally feel cured too! It took me 11 months to the day - but I just do not want to drink now - I basically stopped 5th December, having a few Christmas day then ONE New Years Eve - poured a second but tipped it out - then had one or two in Jan (I think) but other than that - nothing!

Great to hear your news and so happy that you came and told us!!

HUGS, Maggie xx

Hi Maggie: So good to hear that you are doing so well! I can't say I have this beaten (especially after last month!), but I do feel the change. I think last month was a sort of rebellion - as I said, I drank every day (still following the "rules") and probably trying to recapture the pleasure I once had while drinking. Of course, it turned out to be a miserable experience, and it was no problem letting it go. Hopefully, once and for all. I still am not sure if I want to be abstinent, or a light social drinker.....
Best wishes,
Tweed

Hey tweed, thanks for coming back to update us! Sounds like you've made great progress, congratulations on that!

So is your doc a TSM believer now?

Hi Jaba, Joe and Deena: Thanks for the good wishes! I was feeling great and remembered all the encouragement I received when I first started TSM. I realized it was time to pay that forward. I asked my doctor if he would recommend TSM to other patients, and he said he would. I have a google news alert for Naltrexone, and I have noticed an increase in news articles. I'll be following your progress!
Best wishes,
Tweed

Tweed: I am so glad to hear from you. I started March 3, 2015 so just about a month after you, and I have been feeling discouraged. I am way better off than prenal but still have the ups and downs and AF days don't come very easily. Going to have one today, or at least going to try my best. Overall I do OK, but then a couple of days a week I seem to overdo it and feel like crap. But I can't seem to let it go.

At what point did you feel the AF days were coming easily?

Hi Newlife: Don't be discouraged - you've already made a lot of progress! I only had my first alcohol free days in August, and now in my 14th month I have had 25 AF days! That followed a month-long period of drinking every day and feeling lousy every morning! Now, I feel better each day (partly because I'm not taking the NAL, so I'm getting more pleasure out of life). Hang in there, and continue to build on every success. If I can do it, so can you!
Best wishes,
Tweed

Thank you Tweed. I was AF yesterday and though it wasn't effortless today I feel great. I do get down sometimes but there is no way I am going back. I am very clear that I am WAY better off than I was before I started TSM. I just wish sometimes that I was one of the lucky ones for whom all of this is easy and effortless. Oh well.

Please keep coming back and keep us posted. xoxo Newlife
