Week 19, 28.5 units, no af days, no boosters. Not bad considering I went out on Sunday, my fun day and drank 7 beers. Had a great time but the alcohol re-acted differently and gave me my only hangover of the week. Not fun and I hope enough of a jolt, that next time I remember and stop a little earlier. I had a friend drop by another night and I drank 6 with him just chatting and enjoying a nice summer evening. That leaves 5 nights where I averaged about 3 beers each. That's pretty good and I'm extremely happy with that. I also need to mention, .... I switched to light beers on Monday, another step in the right direction as far as I am concerned. I got lucky and when they are ice cold, I can't even tell the difference. I continue to eat well and am making great strides in projects I always wanted to give myself. Stuff I always wanted, but put off for lack of motivation. Unfortunately, I haven't noticed any weight loss, even with the reduction of alcohol. So my spirit has started visualizing a big exercise push coming. I would like to create a caloric defecit through an intensive exercise program so I can get back in shape. Next week, I hope to be able to tell you I have started and a plan is under way. What an awesome gift to give myself and everyone around me, ty TSM. In ending this week, super happy I've come this far. The nal has been a miracle and continues to rebuild my former Self. Bringing me back to all my dreams and aspirations , all effortlessly. All I have to do is simply follow the Golden rule. I'm telling you the truth, I have received the greatest gift, I am alive again. Peace ..........................Start TSM 4/10/14, pre TSM probably between 60 and 70, going as high as 85 units for months straight. ............. Wks:

Five nights of just three light beers isn't just pretty good, plant, it's fantastic!

Have you tried non-alcoholic beer? Some of the imports (e.g. Clausthaler, Beck's) actually taste decent when they are ice cold, and they have fewer calories than even light beer. I have a pregnant friend who drinks them and they aren't bad. I've heard from AA types that they have alcohol and are dangerous, but they have less alcohol than OJ that's been in the fridge, and a champion eater did an experiment where he drank 28 of them in an hour and his blood alcohol only got up to .02, back down to .00 15 minutes later, so I think that they are perfectly safe for anyone.

Ty Magda and great timing with your advice. I'll give it a shot this week. I'm thinking like you, as long as they are ice cold, I may not be able to tell the difference. In fact, this might be the perfect way to help me in my transition to af days. I'll let you know how it goes next week. Enjoy and congrats for finding your way back home. Peace

Should non-alcoholic beers be drank without Naltrexone? I think if you drank them WITH it, it might confuse the process?

I think it would be a waste of a naltrexone. I don't think taking a nal would necessarily confuse anything any more than taking naltrexone and drinking soda would, but it just isn't necessary.

Another interesting thing about NA beer is that the hops in it raises GABA levels naturally, so it is pretty much like drinking regular beer on naltrexone, just without the risk of impairment or sleep disruption. Drinking one at bedtime actually improves sleep: http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Ad ... ne.0037290

PlantPro, I love reading your weekly updates. Thank you for being such a great contributor.

I think I started TSM around the same time as you (4 months ago). I tried TSM a few years ago but failed miserably after taking the NAL sloppily. Sometimes I would take it after I started drinking. Sometimes I would take it with the first drink. Sometimes I wouldn't take it at all. Suffice to say, I stopped taking the NAL altogether.

I started TSM again wholeheartedly and always stick to the golden rule. I find it hard to keep track of units because I am not always drinking in a controlled environment where I can measure my intake.

In any event, I identify with your story and your progress. My concern is with AF days. I have only had one in the last 4 months. Maybe some more experienced TSMers can chime in on this topic.

If AF days are not coming naturally after a few months on TSM should one "force" them in here and there? I feel like one would need to feel what it is like to be AF so that there is a contrast with what it feels like to drink on NAL. Maybe that contrast can speed up the process?

Hi Gc, lets get you posting more, I believe it will help you. When I first started posting, I never imagined how powerful or beneficial they would become. Let alone why anyone would want to read them and the possibility that someone might get something out of them. Now I realize that the problem that plagued me for decades is a huge one and shared by many. Its time to do something about this and give others a chance to regain the part of their lives that I loss. I know TSM is a life saver, lets post our results, not our opinions and let others see and make their own decissions. Ok? My take on the af days are only mine and maybe only make sense to me, but here I go. Af days should not be forced. TSM protocol is all inclusive, it needs no extra gimmicks to work. Your responsibility ends with the compliance of following the golden rule, period. With full compliance, and over an unknown amount of time, TSM takes our brains back to its pre alcohol dependent state. A time when you were whole. A time when you were probably full of dreams, ambitions, values. Our Alcohol use covered up these values, but return the brain through TSM back to its natural state, these good values resurface and everything falls back into place. When you have returned to your original state, af days aren't the issue, you are back home. A place where you are free to implement anything you wish. Go crazy, structure your life to be super human, whatever you want. Make sense?
