Greetings!

Great news. Sounds like you are doing well. Keep up the good work. By the way, happy anniversary. Mine is this Sunday. 17 years and still going.

Last weekend I picked up a book I read almost 19 years ago. Interview With a Vampire. Ever read that one? I have never re-read a book. Let's see if it has the same ending it did the last time I read it. Ha

Take care!

Thanks Chrissie,
Yes, last year at this time I was living out of a suitcase in England with my family still in AL. Of course I was drinking a lot and getting hammered a couple of nights a week. I also put on 20 pounds. This is much better!

Georgiamom,
Congrats on 17! A young man that was engaged to be married asked me what the secret was to staying married so long and I told him; "Don't get divorced".
I haven't read interview with a vampire, although I have seen the movie a few times, great movie and I bet the book is much better. I had to read "Reclaiming the Sky" last week for a class that I am taking, didn't like it. So on Monday I needed something to read on the train so I picked up Michael Crichton's "Micro". I seen Crichton in an IQ2 debate where he was on the "Global warming is not a problem" side and he really impressed me. The book is pretty good.

Hi Eric,

You seem like a music guy, so I thought you might like this thread. It hasn't seen much activity over the past few months, so feel free to contribute...

TSM Soundtrack!

Have a great weekend.

Weekly report: I didn't drink at all the past week. Really didn't feel like it. I just took a Nal and I do plan on having a glass or two of wine a bit later today.

My diet went pretty good last week and I am down almost another pound. This puts me at 222 which is down from 247 which I am happy about. I have lost some strength in the gym but not as much as I was worried about. It will come back. I rode 56 miles on the bike last week and got in all 4 days of weight training. So, all as planned.

"Looking good Louis!" "Feeling good Billy Ray!"

Have a good week,

Eric

I hear ya on the weight thing. At my boozing prime I was up as high as 232, 220 or so when I went total AF last December, down to 202 at the moment and feel WAAAAY better physically and about myself. (TSM started just last week, will be watching the scale closely to make sure drinking moderately doesn't set me back in the weight department.) Also noticed that my blood pressure got a lot better as the weight came off, might even be able to discontinue the pills after I talk to the doctor in the fall. So there are lots of side benefits, glad to hear you're experiencing some of them too. By far the biggest, of course, is waking up every morning not having to lie, apologize, or hate myself for what I did yesterday.

Progress report time:

As I mentioned last post I had just taken a Nal and was going to have some wine, which I did. I had three short glasses and a sip or two from my wife's and that was that. I haven't had a drink since.

Thanks Chrissie and Georgiamom for your continued encouragement!

The rest of life is going pretty good. My diet went OK this week and I have been riding my bike a lot. I missed one day in the gym so I will have to modify my workout today to get all my body parts in. So five days on the bike and three in the gym. Weight is about the same.

Life is good this week,

Eric

Progress update:

Had three drinks at the "Jubilee" party last Sunday (took a Nal before I left the house) and could have really cared less. What was funny is that I was handed a Pimm's when I walked in and I drank that and then was offered a beer but turned it down because I wanted to wait till after I ate. Ended up having a cider and then a half glass of Merlot and a glass of champagne. I guess it was closer to four drinks...anyway, I wasn't buzzed and really could have cared less.

I don't think about drinking. It doesn't excite me anymore. I really haven't tested myself out with friends though so I will see what happens when my buddy shows up next month. He is a big drinker and will want to go on a pub crawl. Doesn't really sound like much fun at this point...

Nal on my brothers and sisters!

Eric
