I had a milestone last night! I went out after work, which I have tried not to do while doing TSM, I had two 16 oz IPA's and didn't want anymore. I wanted Chinese and to do some stuff at home, so I went home and delivery, which sucked (gave me something other than Szechuan chicken.) I opened another beer to go with dinner. I ate my food. I only had two drinks from the beer. About 1/3. I sat down to some TV. Later I decided I was tired and was going to bed. There, on the counter was the rest of the beer! Normally, I would never waste beer. But this time! This time, without thinking about it, I poured it out and went to bed. I didn't think about what I had done until I was laying down!

Week seven done. 46.67 units. Not as good as I had hoped for, I had one binge of 12.67 and hung out with a friend and drank 8.96. That is nearly half of my consumption on two days. The hangover from the 12.67 lasted two days.

I have begun working in some moderation management techniques the last two weeks, and generally, that's helping with the units. I am putting some rules into place for certain days. For example, no more than 5. I can only drink after I have eaten, etc. This is because I think a certain amount of this is habit.

Good work HF! I agree that some moderation techniques can be really good used with TSM, especially if you can't afford to lose time/work/money or whatnot due to binges and hangovers. I think it's really impressive that you were able to leave a beer unfinished! Even now I don't usually do that, out of some deep ingrained hatred of waste lol. But so generally if I'm not sure I'm not going to finish the drink...I just don't pour it in the first place. It sounds like nal is really working for you. Nal on!

Dearest HF,

Those damn hangovers last long don't they??? Just wait, my dear, until you are into your third month. You just might have to change your alcohol menu! Like I changed from white wine to beer....

It's a long, unpredictable ride.

From one Carney to another,

Ketchikan1

Thanks, EL! I had to make a post to tell everyone about pouring that beer down the drain! In my old life (I started to say "normally,") I was always trying to figure out how to get more beer!

Ketch, you say all the right things! ;) A couple of times through this, I have had to bear it with a smile on my face. I know you have felt the same. What else am I going to do? Like you say, it's a long roller coaster of a ride, but I have time! That makes me think of the Grateful Dead, "Truckin'....what a long strange trip it's been!" 'Cept we are all still on the trip. White wine, huh? Gives me even worse hangovers. Red wine is an evil thing too! My head feels like it will explode without nal. On nal, I bet I would want to die. Looking forward to your trip to FL?
