Thanks Warren
I have read enough post on this site to get a pretty good idea of how long before I see absolute results. I have many years to undo.

My decision to change my life after 25 years or so of happily polluting my body, came basically out of pure fear. 5 years ago my marriage of 25 years ended abruptly, he was here one day gone the next. I haven't spoken to him since. I won't get into details, but I was devastated, depressed, alone and an alcoholic. I was in a freaking big black hole and knew that if I didn't seriously turn things around, I wouldn't be on this planet for long. Thankfully I found the MWO website made some friends there and stayed put. I worked very hard at getting some kind of handle on my drinking and to some degree I succeeded.

I realized I needed more help to push me through and that led me to this forum. I am eternally grateful that you all are here. I believe that medication is the KEY to release us. For me, TSM made the most sense, so here I am plodding along hoping that someday I will be on that cured list.

Hi Katie – you are doing amazingly well and are right to not let your numbers worry you. I've just re-read your threads – can I summarise?

Maximum drinks in one session = 8 down from 16.
    Craving AF days
Not drinking when coming home from a night out
The biggest change for many – which is not reflected in the daily unit log, is the lack of blackouts.

I’m really please you are sticking with this treatment. In 6 months you’ll be able to look back with pride at how you have turned your life around.

Keep it going

Andy

Week 10

40/0AF - Not much change this week. Managed to keep it down to no more than 6 drinks per session. I'm starting to get hangovers now, maybe that will help me keep my numbers in check.

Week 11

34/0AF - Interesting week, now once I get 4- 6 drinks in I almost feel sick at the thought of having another. I actually only once had six drinks, five seems to be enough for now. Twice I had those " I need a drink, now! " urges, which normally would end up with me guzzling a minimum of 2L of wine. I could barely finish one small 750 ml bottle. TSM is working.

What an encouraging turn of events in the last week. That is great you are reaching a cap for how much your body will let you indulge. Its all downhill from here......

Hi Katie

Well done on your decrease in units and cravings. You are doing so well, especially after daily heavy drinking for such a long time. The vino is losing its appeal as it has for me. Keep up the good work!

Cheers

Week 14
26/1AF Under 30!!!
I have been mixing things up the past few weeks, challenging myself to get under the 30 mark without "white knuckling". I did it! Yay!
I now eat a big meal BEFORE drinking and I try to steer clear of the wine because every time I get into it I still tend to guzzle. I will eventually have to work on that, but for now I am trying to lower my units and work on getting more AF days in.

two things I notice:

When purchasing booze, I have trouble deciding on what I want to drink, not sure why maybe it's because I really don't want anything???

At the start of TSM I took my pill just after lunch because I was chomping at the bit for that first drink after work. Now I don't think about taking the pill until MUCH later in the day when I decide whether or not I'm going to drink and it's easy to wait an hour or so once I do decide.

I still have a long way to go, but I see differences and I'm positive TSM is working for me. :)

Katie,
You are about one month ahead of me and it looks like you are doing great in a relatively short period of time. I think that we all get impatient with the process, but I keep telling myself that it took me decades to get here so it will take at least a year to undo all that damage.

Katie, I hear you about not knowing what you want to drink...I have a lot of days on nal now where everything tastes yuck and I keep changing my drink to find something I actually want and then eventually give up and stop drinking lol.
This is great progress!
