Hello!!!
I just thought I'd drop in to say hi-- I was doing a little bit of research into Nalmefene (just to see if it could supplement my nal in any way), and thought I'd check in with you all, who really, really helped push me towards the awesome decision to begin the Sinclair Method.
Now-- it DOES take willpower. It DOES take patience. You DO have rough patches. The alcohol cravings don't magically disappear forever.
But compared to the life I was living before? I can't even express the difference. I might still like alcohol more than the average person (for sure!), I might still drink more than I'd like... But my original alcohol consumption made me unable to even have a real life. I was either waking up with a crippling hangover (which I would remedy immediately with liquor), or on my way to passing out. There wasn't really any in-between.
Now? I drink every other day, and only after 7pm (always having taken my nal an hour beforehand, of course). While I still average something like five or six beers in these sessions, I NEVER feel out of control. I NEVER embarrass myself. I feel 100% functional.
The only remaining concern I have about my drinking is that I know the quantity I drink might still be an issue for my liver, but I'm having regular doctor's appointments to keep that in check, and doing my best to cut down, still. However, all social and emotional concerns? Absolutely gone.
So... Maybe nal isn't a miracle cure. But if you're willing to put the effort in, then you will see some extraordinary changes.
Now, with all of that out of the way, I DO want to ask about nalmefene, as a supplement. Obviously, I've been having a great experience with naltrexone on its own, but, like I said, I'm trying to be cautious with my liver, so if I could cut it down even further, that would be great! Does anyone have any experience with it?
