Virgil, it is just shy of 6:00 a.m. here and I see you are online. Just reading your new post and hoping this new medication suits you. If it does I too may be joing the Baclofen group. I am so happy that you were able to find a doctor to perscribe. I will most likely have to go solo which frightens me.

Hi V,

So glad that things continue to move forward from you - despite my worry that you'll inevitably be less active on this community, which you are such a great part of - but of course (as I hope, and trus you know well) just wishing every success for you, whatever the method you finally settle on :)

I would love to know how you came by this specialist, and if they are private or NHS? I'm also intrigued why you are quitting the Nal, as there are present studies which combine both Baclofen and Nal, I think, and Lo0p (despite his unorthodox approach) has had great results from the two combined? I don't mean to be too inquisitive, but more than likely am being, so of course please just answer what you feel comfortable with here for the benefit of all, and if there is anything else you can share by PM I'd be very grateful.

I'd also be interested to know if you have decided to adjust your supplementation regime with the switch to Baclofen.

Anyway, all the very best, can't wait to hear how you get on!! :)

Hi Folks,

Having announced my switch to baclofen, I need to respect the fact that this is "A Community for Users of The Sinclair Method". Consequently, I will reply to any baclofen-related questions by either PM or (preferably) private e-mail. I trust that you will fully appreciate my reasons for doing this.

Best wishes to you all.

V.

Virgil

it isn't my site to say so, but I'd hope (and expect) that anyone having success with ANY method would be welcome here - provided they extend the usual courtesy and respect that is trademark of this site. There does seem to be some interesting similarities etc with the Baclofen method. Of course if you prefer to keep private then that is your prerogative (but we'll all miss ya! ), but until and unless someone tells you not to post it here, I'd be feeling free to do so.

That's all fine and good V. You can talk about whatever you want to talk about. But if you leave, I will hunt you down and find you.

I am also curious as to why you would stop taking the Nal before you drink, other than the fact that you'd probably be one of the first 100 people or so on earth to do so...with unpublished results...in an unsupervised setting... ...and probably some other reasons....

Hi Lo0p,

I have no plans to leave this community in the foreseeable future. I made that clear yesterday on this thread.

I will address your other point - hopefully, within the next few days. Need to gather some more information beforehand.

V,

Thank you for your PM and I completely understand that you feel this site is for reports on people using TSM, but I agree with 1-4. You are a very much-valued member here, and we absolutely want to know how you are doing, whatever the method.

All the best to you,

8 (counting on Lo0p to hunt you down for us all if you disappear :D )

Hi 8,

I obviously need to clarify things a bit. Firstly, I will continue to report on progress or lack thereof (forever the eternal optimist!). But, what I was hoping to convey earlier is that I want to ensure that any detailed baclofen discussions are taken off-line. That is, unless our moderators explicitly state that they are happy for me to do otherwise. They must have the final say.

Hope that helps.

I'll be on the lookout from now on for any surveillance devices around the house keeping a close eye on me and watching my every move!

My best.

V.

V, I sincerely doubt that our moderators would even be comfortable making a decision like that. It is our decision, as a community, mods included and yours as well. Your journey remains invaluable to our community regardless of the outcome. And it may yet turn out that TSM still plays a heavy role in the rest of it. I can't imagine that, in spite of your continued high consumption, nothing has changed.

What if it is your GAD that is driving you to drink? What if when you get that under control you find that it was just the last piece of the puzzle, and that TSM has been working on TSM's part of your addiction all along? There are just too many variables. The only way we'd benefit as a community would be if you stuck around and kept us updated in the latest happenings in V's world.

Virgil,
I agree with the other posts here. I want a detailed progress report with your new journey on baclofen! By the way, what are the negative side effects of baclofen if any? Best of luck to you and again we all look forward to hearing your progress.
