Congratulations!!!

Wow, 9 weeks. That's a record!

After a while we'll have a lot of data on extinction times and probably have a nice bell curve around hmmm... I'll have to research that number. Regardless, you'll be at the start of that curve for quite a while I believe. Congrats again.

:D Bob :D

Congrats from me as well AJ! How I wish I would have been as smart as you in admitting I had a drinking problem back in my 20s. You are wise beyond your years! I am so very happy for you!!! :D

AJ -- It means a great deal that you continue to not only share your success but go to the trouble of graphing. Thanks also for continuing to contribute to the dialogue on this board. We are blessed to have you here and are thankful for your wellness.

That is some SERIOUS measuring! HA!

*imagines AJ using a pipette, measuring glasses :P and a chalkboard to calculate the .9 (big black specs on too!)*

AJ working out his daily consumption  :

Sorry fella, couldn't resist :D It's easy to work out units here too, most of them are printed on the bottles or cans. But being lazy I do tend to round slightly up or down (whatever's easier) to tally up the weeks sometimes.

I actually have a calculation from today I'm going to try to work out, as I'm more and more interested in exact units. I had 3/4 of a 10cl mini bottle of vodka earlier, and it's 37.5 vol. In the UK a 25ml measure of a spirit at 40% is one unit...

I'm gonna struggle with this one but by jove I'll do it!! 8-)

Thanks for the calculation my friend. Hope you don't mind if I round it down to 2.8...might make my curve look better!! (Doubt it!)

Ah, you used it as your avi? You truly are The Scientist of the board now, all we need is for Lo0p to change his to a piccie of Newton and all is present and correct :D

Anyway glad you are still posting. Could you do me a huge favour and update my fancy dan graph- tried and cant do it! If you look at my weekly update - i am almost down to safe levels Yippe but would love another graph- after looking at Bob's thread i am suffering from Graph envy :D

I know I got sh*t-canned a while back when I suggested that people make an effort to take consecutive AF days in the manner described in the book, but now that a number of people are starting to talk about and are using effort, perhaps do it in the manner of positive reinforcement described in the book.

Hi AJ,
First, I just want to say thanks for your posts - we have a similar profile and reading your experiences really helped convince me to try TSM.

I'm wondering if you can elaborate on what you said above. Did you use effort? At what point did you start, and what was your experience of positive reinforcement, if any? I'm into my fourth week, and wondering if I should try to have some AF days. Each day I've been asking myself if I want to abstain for the day and the answer has been no, but it wouldn't be super difficult to do it anyway. Any insight is much appreciated :)
