always happy to have you along, Maggie! you're the expert at these kind of benders!

last night drinking water all night and dancing was no big deal at all. never even wanted one; just kept asking my wife every hour if she wanted a beer (she had a couple). ended up with 35,081 steps on my iPhone ap for the day! lots of activity and no AL is a real pleasure. OK, I did abuse the ibuprofen this morning when I got up....

35,000 steps????? WOW! I have NEVER had that many! EVER! Gosh - I have got as many as 26,000 but in the 30,000 range - gosh, that is truly amazing and I am so happy that you did it all with NO AL! The Nal really has worked for you! My daughter was asking me about it a couple of weeks ago and she is taking it now - she is not a daily drinker but more of a binger - so I think it will be harder for her somehow! But when she drinks, she cannot stop at 1 or 2 and I so worry about her drinking and driving - a friend of hers just got a DUI which is what has opened her eyes somewhat! Anyway - I am glad that you had a great time and that things are going so well for you - I assume the Ibuprofen was for aching body parts?

HUGS, Maggie x

yes, Maggie, definitely for the aching body parts. must've recovered well though as I got over 23,000 steps in yesterday! went to my first ball game of the season, and my buddy had a great looking beer, but honestly I had no real desire to get one (at $7 a pint it probably helped!). talked to my son last night on the phone for a long time, which was also nice. 6 weeks until I'm a grandpa!

I'm happy to hear your daughter's taking Nal. I think if she's a binger it could be really good for her: if she's going out, just take the Nal before hand and hopefully she'll not be able to knock back 4+ drinks at a setting. that's probably what has changed for me most---the desire to keep going and going.

hugs! xx zontar

Zontar - I am expecting pics you know! SO exciting for you. Laughed at the beer not looking so good at $7 a go! Drinking only Guinness, I used to find it so hard when going to any sort of venue - I would SUFFER a beer at astronomical prices simply to have a beer! Way to go on your 23,000 steps! I was getting that sort of number a year or so ago but seem to have slowed down considerably - tend to get around 17,000 - 18,000 these days!

Yes Joe and Zontar - I am hoping that the nal works for my daughter - she just wants to drink 'normally' (don't we all) and be able to have one if she fancies it when she goes out..... but being a binger rather than a daily drinker I think it will take longer for her - and as you know it took me nearly a year! But she is committed anyway which is great!

hugs, Maggie x

yeah, it's funny how I'd buy a $7 beer because I didn't feel like NOT having one was an option. my wife was shock that we had a medium pizza and an appetizer the other night for $25. without AL, it was probably about half price to have dinner!

ha ha zontar, I had to laugh. My husband has remarked many times "gee, dinner out is really not so expensive when we don't drink". It is so true!!

Glad to see that you are doing SO WELL. I admire you ability to string together the AF days that is still tough for me but I want to try.

Nal on!! xoxo Newlife

it's crazy, isn't it? I must have been in real denial about how much I spent on AL. thanks for the support and it's good to see your numbers. looks like it's really happening for you! zontar

Zontar, so glad you are doing so well. I don't ever want to total up what I spend on alcohol or haircuts and color. My favorite margarita at a local restaurant just went up to $15, which makes it a hell of a lot easier not to order it!
