Hi Maggie, it's so encouraging to see your progress. 7 units in a whole week is so wonderful! It's like... a normal person! :D
It's crazy to think that even if you have hiccoughs along the way, you are still only several months into this, and in another several months it will likely be over. To win a fight that many many people spend years years losing in such a short time is incredible. What a gift...

Thank you Gdmcf - that is sweet of you to say so but I am into this since January! This week is a bit of a disaster for me but I know it all ebbs and flows so still have hope ! I am pretty sure it is my brain knowing it is losing the battle and having a last hoorah! You started about a month after me - how are you doing ??

Hugs, Maggie x

No worries Ocean - I used to have to take the Ab simply to have any AF days - but can now manage to have them without taking it - which is a GIANT step for me. Even though I ended up taking only 1/16 of a tablet - LOL - it was enough that I knew I would not drink. However nowadays I do not take anything - I just AM AF !! I know initially when I posted about taking the AB there were some posters who disagreed with me but then there were those who said ANY way to get an AF day was good - but I went with what was right for me. It is a long time since I took any AB and for that I am extremely grateful to Nal ! Thanks for the thought though - it is always appreciated to hear others point of view,

Hugs, Maggie x

Maggie - Maggie- Maggie,

I am looking at this forum and listening to Neil Young's song - Searching for a heart of gold - and thinking of you! I feel for you as you are having doubts to your progress - while the rest of us - who you support daily - are just amazed at your progress and your heart of gold. You, newlife, steven, UK, etc and the rest of the regular posters (sorry if I missed any of the regulars) are truly what has made me stick around this forum. You, and the rest of the regulars, let us all know that this is not a straight path to abstinence - but a journey up Mauna Kea (highest mountain on earth I think). It is a tough journey that includes all the ups and downs, incredible highs and lows, and what seems like a never ending journey. But well worth the struggle to reach the peak. Not a journey you would want to take alone. And one that I would not have tried if I had not seen this forum or post's.

So, my words of wisdom are this: hit the "view your posts" and read your own words of wisdom when others have struggled. Read them and you just might see that your set back is normal. And that if you keep with the program YOU WILL PREVAIL. As I said before -good things happen to good people. And you have the heart of gold so you will beat the s*$t out of AL if you keep the faith.

Don't let a couple of days get you down!

Maggie,

I love reboot's message to you to reread your posts. As a newbie to this forum I am reading and reading and finding so much wisdom and encouragement here, much of it from you. You are an inspiration to me. Keep your chin up! (We look younger when we do that 8-) )

Deena

Well said. Maggie will get past this. She deserves it. As do you all.
Again my deepest respect to you all.

Reboot - what can I say ? Your post had me in tears ..... I was SO touched by it ! I read it at work this morning and have only just been able to reply - I have been struggling so much this past week and you are so right about what I would say to others - thank you very much - you are just so sweet! I REALLY needed to read that this morning - it helped me beyond belief. I have been AF today and am hopefully back on track!

Deena - thanks for the kudos - I just know that the more we post the better this site is. Others reach out to me and I love that I can pay it forward!

Steve - you have always been such a staunch supporter for me too - thank you so much !! I sort of thought from a recent post of yours that you had had a spot of bother recently - or was I imagining that?

I really have not been very good the past few days at going through the posts and replying - but I have bounced back and am feeling ready to go again!!!

Thanks so much everyone !!! I feel hugged !!

Hugs, Maggie x

I'm okay, Maggie. I have my little baby roller coaster rides. Also I AM a stereotypical male in that I want to just fix things. When stuff gets too emotional for me I want to withdraw a little. I have a wife (separated) and two daughters and when it comes to drama, I cringe but they all seem to thrive. So sometimes I take an emotional break from you all. But I still love you all. You are like all my little invisible friends of the best sort.

Steve.
