Hi HG

That's great news, the not liking the nal buzz. I have to say I still like it, but not how I feel the next day. Felt so much better today than I did over the weekend after an AF night. Am trying for 4 AF days as my units Thurs-Sat are already up in the 20's and want to stay under 30 this week.
Keep up the good work.

Cheers
Sticky ;)

HAGOW - what a funny acronym. Let's stick to HG ;) I do understand the Nal Buzz feeling you mean.

I also understand your frustration about trying to get one AF day. I postd the following on Server's page - but it still makes perfect sense for your situation:

" I've re-read the 'Cure for alcoholism' book and there's a good part about dealing with Cravings - P111 to 113.

"By now you should know that the end of your craving and addiction won't come from trying to abstain...as the urges arise, you permit yourself to drink - but only if you have taken your medication."

I like this part the best: "Remember, the cure occurs incrementally - drink by drink -... as the addiction in your brain is dismantled, weakened, and ultimately broken through extinction."

Keep up the absolutely marvellous work - you must feel so proud

Hi HG, your now down to half your preTSM levels. It won't be long before you have that long awaited AF. Your patient attitude is excellent. After this week I feel like I'm at getting closer to a point where I may declare myself "regained control" and I feel like you won't be far behind. The habit side of drinking is left for you but the attitude has already set sail. Keep going and I hope you have a great week. Warren

Hi, HG!

Just checking in to see how "everyone" is doing. Time has been so crunchd here I don't get to the forum very often, but DO follow the plan and post on my spreadsheets, etc.

I'm very happy to see your numbers steadily going DOWN! It may be slow but SURE, but the SURE is the part that counts!

I wish you continued success, and I always check on you when I get a minute to check the forum. 'So good to see you are getting there.

Hi HG

Am sorry to see you haven't posted for a while and hope you are doing OK. You were right - the face lift wasn't the nicest experience, but my main issue was a couple of panicky episodes in the hospital. (Anxiety.) Overall there hasn't been a lot of pain, more just tightness and itchiness. I still look like a freak of course, with yellow & bruised face and battered eyes and have sunnies on in public day & night. Hopefully by the time I'm back home most of the swelling will have gone down. At least in a foreign country I'm not so bothered about what people think of me!

Post soon

Hi HG,

Just wanted to say hi after a long absence. How are you doing? I went off the rails for while - I got impatient and thought TSM wasn't working. But turns out it was, just slowly and subtly.

I look forward to finding out how everyone is doing. Hope you are well!

YG

Hi WJ - Yes, I'm still here. I haven't seen amazing progress yet, but I am now down to about 4 units of wine a day. However, I did one night this week of 6 units and OMG did I get drunk. I didn't like that and neither did my family. The next night I only had 3 units. I'm at 28 weeks now. My goal in week 29 is to keep it at 3-4 units every night. I think I will start what Server did and cut my wine with seltzer water. That will bring the units down even further. I am also going to start formally tracking in my journal again. All in all I'm doing okay. I always take my Nal before Al.

Hope you are doing well. I'll check Sticky and your thread next.

Hi HG

It's good to hear from you again. I hope you are managing to stick to your 3-4 units a night. My drinking has been up & down the past few weeks, but will update on my weekly progress as long as our internet doesn't crash again. GRR! Have had no access since we got home on Sunday apart from the 45 mins up at the public library it took me just to send 2 business emails!

Cheers
Sticky :P

Hi HG, good to hear from you. Keep the faith, remember that TSM won't cause "amazing" progress. Most of the "cured" describe regaining control as something that occurs subtlety. Your drinking figures have been stable now for months. Like I posted earlier perhaps you need to concentrate on how habit is driving your drinking. Maybe try to ask yourself, do I really want this wine or am I simply drinking it because that what I always done. Also maybe try not to preeempt cravings. Ie don't have a wine at 7pm just because you may crave one at 8pm. Wait for the cravings too come before you have a drink. You may suprise yourself and the cravings may not occur at all especially if you find yourself occupied doing something. Hope I don't sound like I'm preaching HG, just wanted to make some suggestions. I have confidence you'll get there, hope you have a great week, Warren
