Yeah, I started on baclofen about a week ago and haven't had a drink since, and I'm only on 30mg. Drowsiness; yeah a little, but also feeling very energetic at times. For some reason the baclofen kills this "I'm getting stir crazy, I'm going to relax with a few drinks" mechanism. I just don't get stir crazy. I was up all night last night cleaning guitar fretboards (literally all night), it didn't even occur to me to get a drink, though I was 15 feet away from probably 50 bottles of very good beer. My sleep is definitely improved, I noticed this the first night... I woke up at 9:30 am (I have some nerve damage in my lower back, sleeping is tough) for the first time in a long time. Tomorrow night is some scheduled drinking with an old friend, we'll see how it goes. It looks like the baclofen is an important part of the equation for me too.
It is still sinking in that this all actually works. Really amazing.
I describe it like that : Craving is gone. If Craving is gone, taking alcohol will not bring relief of this symptom - and that way become obsolete.
You will soon need to increase dose to achieve the same results.
