Hi WTE - just a quick note to say I've got you in my thoughts. Even with my ups and downs I know it still works and I really believe the deeper ingrained the addiction, the harder it is to root it out. Good luck with the new man and I hope the stress stays manageable this season for you.

WTE,
Hang in there girl! We are all in this together. I have been at this a long time too. I just have to believe that this is going to work! I truly believe that you and I and others have been at this game for so long that it is just going to take more time for us. I wish it were now!! It is hard to be patient. I wish Dr. E would chime in with his two cents on this though... Keep us posted on your new relationship!

AsRealityTurns please don't give up. I've read all your threads and I feel like I know you. I was once a CA girl myself, miss it. You will make it whether it takes you 8 mo. or a year it will happen. What is the word we hear on this board all the time which at times sort of ticks me off but makes sense PATIENCE. Remember you can say "Surfs up!" the rest of can't. :D

Well, not to usurp WTE's thread (I am sure she doesn't mind) But I will not be drinking and if I succumb to a urge, I shall take my Nal 1st, and wait an hour. I will still be on the program, just maybe not drinking...... :P I will write my own thread soon and see what comes of my situation.
I am not leaving this forum in any case currently.

Hi WTE,

I see you haven't posted for awhile. Neither have I. I'm wondering how you are doing, since I'm a lot like you and haven't seen any dramatic positive effects -- yet! -- with NAL.

I'm hanging in there, though, and am determined to get through this month (Dec.) in one piece -- and a little more gloriously than I got through Thanksgiving...

We'll see, but in the meanwhile hope you are okay and sticking with NAL, too.

Sante

WTE,
I like hearing from you even if you feel you have "nothing to report"! I think its nice just to check in with everyone. So please keep updating us! Besides I don't mind hearing about your new BF :P Of course I should talk, I know I have let weeks go by for the same reason without writing in.

Interesting that you also had those side effects from the Topa. I thought it was working well for me but those side effects were terrible. I just felt like I was living outside of my body or something. It was just too weird.

Anyway, you and I are not that far off from each other in weeks. I wish we could hear from Dr. E as I have said before as to what his thoughts are on people who have been drinking for many long years. I feel I am starting to have some small successes, but for me it was more trying to put more effort into it than just it happening all by itself. I just felt like nothing was happening, although I must admit my cravings are definitely much lower. But my habit and those triggers seem to overrule all else so that is why I am trying to add some elbow grease into the mix and see what happens.

WTE, did you have fun in wine country? You really didn't talk much about it. I'm so sorry you're overwhelmed with the job, BF and AL right now especially when the holidays should be a time of peace, relationships and joy it can be just the opposite. Please don't give up I know I sound sometimes like a broken record but how do you know that maybe next week or two weeks from now that tsm will creep up on you and you'll say "you know I don't think I really want anything to drink" that will be YOU!

praying for you WTE

WTE, yes as you have numerously times told me, hang in there, we are hopefully getting somewhere.
Maybe we need a change of formula, what about LoOP and his success with Baclofen?
Still, we are the guinea pigs, so there we are.
Hey girl, my photo shoot is tomorrow, and the weather is crummy and cold! :o I will report back.
Miss you! :P

for me, no unit updates...for now

Hi WTE,

I wonder if you are still around and taking NAL. How are you? I feel such empathy with you: I seem to be making so little progress, too.

I keep thinking I'm doing something wrong: won't aren't I getting the same positive results that so many other are?

Well, I've been doing this since July and I figure I don't have anything to lose by sticking it out for a year. Hopefully, you will hang in there, too. This program truly would be a miracle if "hard core" cases like us could find extinction!

Be well,
Sante

You definitely gave TSM a fair shake. You plodded on, never griping, even though it didn't work for you. I admire you for that! Hang in there and don't give up the fight. We are all rooting for you!

My best,

Nick
