Hi Cheeto - I'm right here beside you and not doing any better than you either. It's funny you talking about being convinced you are going to die of cancer. I keep having this terror that I'm going to keel over and have a heart attack!! I've been out walking my dogs and suddenly feel like I can't breathe - but it only happens when I think about it, so it's probably some sort of panic attack. Part of me worries that I'm not only drinking too much but I'm also pumping myself with Nal. Ho hum - still drinking far to much, although I actually did achieve ONE AF day last week. I actually took my Selincro, but by the time I reached the hour point, we had already started eating dinner and I really couldn't be bothered to get up and open a bottle of wine. That's a first for me! However, it hasn't happened again and I'm still drinking far too much every night.

Hang on in there my friend - Nal on! xxxx

Another thing to consider Cheeto, at some point you might consider increasing your dose to 75mg. That might help you feel less compelled to drink through the nal and get your get your numbers to a more manageable level. I don't have any experience with that personally but I've read that it has worked for others. For now I'd just give it more time, but that's something to consider down the road.

Just wanting to add this link to my progress so I can refer to it in the future:

How long does naltrexone 'sit' in the receptors for? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=118

Week 19 underway and I leave tomorrow from Mexico back home. It has been a great vacation in the sun and the tropics but drinking is a past time here so I need to get home and get back to measuring my drinks and not so much temptation. I probably shouldn't have come here this year but I really don't like cold, dark dreary winters. It's Carnaval here so even more partying than usual goes on through the day and until the wee hours of the morning too.
Not much to report on my changes since I don't think I am as mindful as when I am at home and measuring is non existent here other than ordering a beer.
Will hopefully make some headway when I get home with TSM and report back soon.
Very happy to read most of you guys are doing really well with TSM...
Nal On!

Hi Cheeto - how are you? You haven't posted for a while (and nor have I) just wondered if you are staying the course.

I'm now 17 weeks in, totally compliant, but not really noticing a reduction in my drinking - pretty my same level as before TSM. However, the wine doesn't taste so good anymore. I've even tried switching from white to red, and to sparkling, but it still does have the same buzz. Maybe this will be the point that things start to turn. I've loved reading This Time's thread and amazing progress - and his first experience of 'the cure' was a dislike of the taste.

NAL on! :D

I only ever drink Guinness (Murphy's) - always have, and the other day when I was in the liquor store, I actually thought about getting something else .... interesting !

Week 20, just an update as I am drinking the same as Pre-Nal but find I maybe am drinking less but get drunk quicker than I used to (on 1 glass of wine). I have been pretty much drinking every day and lately have been experiencing blackouts almost every night. I get very tired early and go to bed at 8-9PM,have a very interrupted sleep, stay in bed until 9-10AM and wake up feeling tired and feeling sick every day. I find I am now getting shaky and sweating in the morning where I only would have this if I really went on a bender the night before. I think it's the Nal that is making me sicker, Nalovers???

That sounds really tough, Cheeto. I am so sorry. Maybe also some depression from leaving sunny Mexico and coming back to the cold? Hang in there.
