It's because the research was mainly based on 50mg, per Cthree Foundation, everybody's different in the one way or the other. BarryB4 certainly had an unusual experience with it...

Looks like everything is coming along nicely, Joe. I suspect things will improve more once you get up to the full dose. I hope those SEs subside soon.

Guappo, Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Eskapa seemed pretty clear on the optimal dose being 50mg. While I trust you the lower dose has sufficed the attitude from the councilors on the other board is confusion as to why folks are remaining so long on the lower dose. I guess as with much of this it's a personal journey.

The SE's seem to be getting better in fits and jerks, Zontar. When I took a shower yesterday, I had to keep a hand on the wall when I closed my eyes to rinse my face. It got worse in the evening after I took 25mg. I wish I knew more about how the neurotransmitters play into this.

Gosh Joe - you really are having a problem with SE's. Have you talked to Joanna about it?

Hugs, Maggie x

I mentioned it to her at one point. I should schedule a session with her.

I am feeling better this morning though!

Joe - so sorry the SE are hitting you so hard. Have you had the same thing happen with other meds? But it is great to see that you are getting some strong results during the first month. Very happy for you. And thank you for jumping in and helping others. It is great to see the never ending stream of people who are desperate to save them selves from the ravages of AL reach out to help others in the same situation. Not something you see out there in the "real world" to often.

Time for an update:

Last week, the SE's were down by about 80% so I decided to go from 25mg to 50mg to see if there was any difference. Aside from a bit of a buzzed feeling after taking the Nal, I really didn't notice much of any change in the SE's, so decided to stick with it. The past couple of days the SE's got worse, but I'll just ride with it and see what develops.

The numbers have bumped up a bit, not particularly worried about it, but I'll be pushing them back down just the same. I'd like to get some AF days in around the end of the month.

Pre Nal - 84 units/week

Week Units.........AF
1......58.6...........0
2......51.9...........0
3......36.6...........0
4......31.3...........0
5......30.............0
6......31.9...........0
7......38.............0

Hi Joe
That's no good on the SE. Is it still dizziness & fuzzy thinking?

Is it after you take the NAL directly?

Joe - I am glad that the SE's were slightly better, although you said that they got worse the next time you took it ? maybe go up from 25 to 37.5 instead of going to 50? Also - as you said, maybe schedule a session with Joanna?

And your numbers did go up - but they are still way down from pre Nal aren't they? So that is good !

Hang in there .....

Hugs, Maggie x
