Does anyone else get "the sweats" (perspiration) after taking Naltrexone? It has become somewhat uncomfortable.

Bob

I haven't experienced it Bob, but it does seem to be a common side effect- maybe it will pass as the others seem to?

Perhaps Dr. E can help.

Yes Bob, this was quite a problem for me for awhile - several weeks. But it has completely passed now. Hang in there.

Thanx G4M! It's tough to sleep in a puddle of sweat every night!

Last night, I had one of those "honeymoon" nights (Nal, not marital). I thought I'd have an AF day, but the craving was too strong (9 out of 10) around 3PM. I took my Nal, waited an hour and a half, started on my usual 6 pack of 12 oz. Guinness Stouts, then after 2½ of them, I fell asleep for about an hour. When I awoke, my craving was a solid 0. I took a sip of the beer and it tasted nasty, so I dumped the rest of the 3rd bottle and drank ice tea the rest of the evening then went to bed. I felt So good last night with no craving and So good this morning for waking up clear headed, well rested and a feeling of accomplishment. I hope I have many more of these experiences. They are quite encouraging!

I am going for my first AF day today. I'll report the experience, tomorrow.

Bob

Fantastic, Bob! I've had a few days like that. . .then went back to pre-sinclair drinking levels. . .and now seem to be simply, drinking less.

This forum is interesting in that we can see the Naltrexone/TSM seems to work differently for different people/types of drinkers. But over time it's becoming more apparent that it does work!

I'm so grateful for all of you who post your progress and experiences. This MB has become a lifeline for me.

Thanks Robert for the encouragement!

BTW, I like this picture of you best, it would make a great avatar and you could get that bird off your head: ;)

Do you do reenactments, or was this a picture you get at one of those specialty photo places? My sister-in-law does reenactments and she and her hubby have some awesome pictures in costume.

OMG, the things people can find on the web. I assembled that outfit over several years of attending renaissance festivals in Larkspur, Colorado. I had an amateur photo studio in my garage for a few years, so it's inevitable that such an image might be taken. :) I'll consider using it as an avatar, but I tend to think that that photo is just as silly as the bird one, although it seems to take itself more seriously.
