That's awesome. I feel the same way - it's nice to not fear alcohol and social situations anymore.

So last night I went out for happy hour with some friends. I don't usually drink during the week, but it was a friends Birthday, so I went. I did not take nal. I had 3 drinks and was done. Didn't want the 3rd, really. I chose not to take the nal because the last time I took it I woke up feeling pretty sick and tired the rest of the day. I was also a little curious to see what would happen. I was pretty sure I wouldn't 'lose control' because I can go long periods af and drink again in moderation for a bit before I start to lose control. I am going to try taking 12.5mg and see what happens. I am a petite person (5ft 1, 115lbs) maybe I don't need that much nal? We shall see! ;)

Well, 12.5mg did not work so well. I enjoyed alcohol way too much on that dose! Oh well, lesson learned! I did have another drinking session after that taking 25mg and felt in control again. I do feel like I am forcing myself to continue drinking after I don't really want more. Old habbits die hard, I guess. I do feel like drinking too much is a choice now, where as before it was a compulsion. I hope everyone is well!

Well, like so many others on this forum, I have experienced an increase in my drinking. I have not blacked out and I still have a stopping point. However, I know I am close to preTSM levels:\ I am now taking a full 50mg Nal, one hour prior to drinking. I did notice my stomach hurt for about 24 hours the first two tmes taking the full dose and I had some pretty crazy, vivid dreams, but getting my drinking under control is worth the mild discomfort. I am a bit disappointed that the "honey moon" is over. I do hope TSM will lead to my cure, but I would be lying if I didn't admit I'm now worried it won't work:\

Hang in there Ava. I look at Chrissie...it took her over a year before she felt cured but it happened. We just can't let ourselves give up too soon. In my case, it's the side effects and the lousy feeling the day after taking Nal that I'm dealing with. Am trying to muster up the courage to get back on it and keep w/ the program.

Started TSM Aug 2012. Had some success but over time the Nal SEs were so awful that stopped taking Nal. Managed a 30 day (Sept 2012) and 46 day (Feb/Mar 2013) AF period which also contributed to getting drinking under control.

After a spike in my consumption, I am happy to report that my drinking levels have dropped back down. I feel complete control over my drinking again! TSM is a rollercoaster!

Hi all! I thought I should write an update. I now consume about 5 units when I drink (mostly fridays and/or saturdays). I do still experience spikes from time to time, but never consume more than 8 units, which doesn't happen often. Since day 1 starting TSM I have experienced some control over my drinking. I have not blacked out or gotten sloppy drunk once! Once 3 drinks per session is my 'norm' I will declare myself cured.

Hi all! Just thought I would give you all an update. About 2 months ago (5 months into tsm) I experienced a spike in my drinking. I was still drinking at lower levels, but they were close to pre tsm levels. I didn't think a "cure" was possible for me. I stuck with the program figuring my cosumption had dropped and I hadn't experienced a black out so why not? Since that spike my levels began to drop again. I now can have 2-3 drinks and feel" done. That has not happened to me since my early 20's. I now can drink without much thought knowing it will not turn into an all night drinking session. I believe I have been "cured" as long as I always take Nal prior to drinking. It is such a strange feeling to no longer be addicted to alcohol. I just want you all to know that even if you have a spike in cosumption that a cure is still possible. Just stick to the program. I wish you all the best. I will post another update in the future.
