One more week almost done. I had two evenings of too much wine, not as drunk as before Nal, but woke up feeling poorly.Once again, no food and started drinking.
The dinner party went wonderful. I drank 4 oz of wine and did not want any more. dinner was very filling.
I took the nal 2 hrs before the party, I really wnated it on board.
Over the week I am improved, less AU, less cravings, able to leave the glass unfilled longer when reading or watching a movie.
Other drinks, like sparkling water taste very good.
the Nal gives me a feeling of sucess, that long tern sucess is very possible.
Hope this inspires a lurker to try.

Same story this week, over all cravings down, drank one glass too many twice, but not as drunk/drinking as much as before nal.. a 5 liter box of wine is lasting 6 days.
before it was 3-4 days, plus a bottle.
lovely day for a walk before turkey.

I joined the board one month ago. This is my weekly happiness journey, I chose to dwell on progress, not failure. been there done that.
In one month, cravings are down, wine is more under control.I am very happy.
I am so happy I can now comtemplate evening hoilday activites without AL lurking around the edges.
In one month on Nal my drinking pattern has reverted almost ten years.
On the Nal, I suddenly like sparkling waters, never did like soda before. I am considering buying a sodastrream so I can drink as much sparkling water , juice as I want.
I am so thrilled, I come home and drink soda for an hour, and do not reach for the wine right away. This has been a long time goal I could not obtain before Nal.
I hope I inspire someone to try.
my only concern is my meds from ALL DAY, have not arrived. I am down to 12 pills.
xmas rush did slow the shipement down.

Orca, I too find sparkling water a good substitute for something drink-worthy other than wine/alcohol. Trader Joes sells cases at a very reasonable price and they come flavored...lime, lemon, orange, mixed berry...no sugar/0 cal....Very good.

I hit a bit of a flat spot this week, drinking about 4 glasses anight, one night I overdrank for some reason, felt really bad all the next day. a juice/soup recovery day.
my order came fro all day. patience is the key, i did not get into AL fast, its been a long time, so it will take a while to get out.

True that, my friend...you're off to a great start and just hit a little bump this week. Still, it looks like the holidays will no doubt be happier for you than last year, right? It IS so wonderful to look forward to going out to dinner, parties, etc., and not worrying about over-doing things...well, there's still the matter of the hors dourves... ;)

I got busy with holidays and such.
My drinking is down, but rather steady at 4 units a night, I am going to bed sober, waking up no hangover, which is very nice.
1 al free night.
I did buy a soda stream yesterday, after years of drinking flat water I just cannot get it down,i felt guilty about the price, but,,, if it helps.

I was reading the book the Plan, and am wondering if I have a huge yeast infection in my gut , that would really slow down getting off wine, the body is craving sugar. so I bought some all body yeast killer to see if if helps with the wine. will keep you posted.
bought more meds, am taking like a religon.
I loved reading the cured stories and cannot wait to post my next gain in control.

I am really happy this week! great progress in slowing the train has been made!
here are the additional steps that really hae helped.
I bought a soda stream, it carbonates water, add flavoring, I do not like soda, and suddendly cannot get water down. this really helps keep me hydrated so i can drink less wine.
TWO,
I read the book the PLAN, saw it on OZ, the intro was great. I suspect systemic yeast in our gut keeps us addicted to alcohol, I have done two weeks of good probiotics, kale/apple/good belly drinks and been de yeasting myself, the first week was hell, achy, grumpy. I am also taking the other supplements recommended.
THIRD
I added the Paul Mckeena "I Can make you thin hypnosis" cd also on OZ
the cd works great, I added wine/beer to the suggestions and the train slowed down fast!
hope this helps someone
