Amazing how this stuff works for most people...good to hear & hope this is what you want, DOMD. You may be an inspriation to your friends and save a few of their lives as well. Interesting it happens so fast -

Months 6 - 12 @ 100mgs
2/10 Dropped to 50mgs; units same
4/10 stopped NAL & started BAC thru River
6/10 up to 120 mgs BAC w/ MAJOR SEs
7/10 titrating off BAC
8/10 starting Topamax w/ Dr.

The most frustrating thing for most of us on this board is that TSM works, but a lot longer than 3-4 months for most of us. So, patience is definitely part of our modified formula. Focus on your improvement while on your journey: you will gradually gain more control, will have more clarity and won't act like a jackass when drinking on naltrexone. Blackouts and hangovers will be reduced also.

Good to see you doing well. I pm'ed you the other day but for some reason it didnt go through. I think I remember you from another quiting site.

Ive only just started last week and have the same drinking pattern as you. AF all week and drink Friday Saturday and Sunday.
I was thrilled with naltraxone this weekend but its probaly just the honeymoon.

Early success with TSM -- i.e., the "honeymoon" -- has been a huge indicator of success overall. The spike or "extinction burst" can be disheartening but hopefully not so much since you know it's a fairly typical part of TSM. Patience is key -- TSM takes many months (3-9) for true extinction to occur. Good luck.

DOMD, I'm reading your posts. Congratulations! I have drinkers in my family too, and they can be a huge trigger. So I get where habit and addiction are dovetailing for you. Keep posting....
