Hi all,

I think I've read every single post on this site and I'm envious. ...a brief background : I'm a 45 mom of 4 teenagers (13, 14, 15, 16), a victim of repeated childhood sexual abuse (6 years) and an admitted problem BINGE drinker. I am waiting so impatiently for my first order of Nak to arrive, but in the meantime I've been drinking 3-6 drinks a night. I weigh 90 lbs.

I keep reading all of your testimonials and I desperately want to start Nal. I want to get out from the judgement of my husband, stop hiding my drinking (wine in my water bittle.... hello ) and just start a life not dictated by alcohol from the hour of 6 pm on....

Sorry....just threw myself a pity party til my Nal comes....

MinneMom

Hi Minniemom

I really hope TSM works for you.

I was a binge drinker and it worked beautifully for me.

Do be aware that alcohol reduction can change the dynamic of your relationships and life. Reducing harmful drinking however is a life saver and opens up many possibilities.

MinneMom,

The nal. will come and you will have your turn soon. Please be patient and just keep reading and rereading the posts. TSM is a process that can be very tedious, but it does work. Take notes as you are reading, start writing about how you feel about your drinking, and try to relax until your pill comes. The notes will come in handy when you go through this process and you remember something you read and want to reread it but cannot find it (it has happened to me a couple of times). I know what you mean about not having a life dictated by alcohol, for I would pray everyday for me to not buy that wine and not drink it. What a vicious cycle that is.

I am sorry your husband is so judgmental for that is not a healthy relationship. He will have to learn to look at you differently once you have a grip on your drinking so focus on that for now.

I had three children, and my oldest drove me to drink. She was a handful and I stopped drinking when she away to college, and then the next year my other children start acting up, not as bad as her but enough to start drinking again (any reason to drink really). I turned to al. anytime I was stressed, and my husband traveled a lot so al. was my comfort at night. The teenage years are tough on you and them.

Hang in there,

Jaba

patience, patience. you'll still need plenty of it when you get your Nal. please stay on the forum and read some of the experiences of others. it's different for all of us, but it seems to work on SOME level for most of us. patience and good luck.

We all deserve a little pity party every now and then. I threw myself a pity gala weekend before last. Keep your chin up and think about all the changes that await you. As Zontar said, they do take patience, though.
