Hello everyone!

I am new to TSM and in fact only started my Nal(trexone) this afternoon so I haven't much to tell yet, however I had been lurking for some time before I actually joined and I canNOT tell you how useful I found reading about everyone else's experience and progress.

Pre-Nal, I am easily a habitual 70+ UK units a week drinker and yet still somehow a functional human being. I am not sure how looking back, and I don't know how long that would continue if I didn't do something positive soon, so I have bought the Book and the Nal and here I am.

Day 1 (hopefully of the rest of my life) - I took my first 50mg this afternoon, waited an hour (more like an hour and a half really because I didn't have any drink in the house, got distracted with housework after taking my pill and then by the time I got to the shop an back.....) and suffered very few side effects in that time, although I did and still do feel really tired and irritable and cranky, something that sometimes happens as a result of lack of AL, but I have my second drink in front of me now and I am still kind of feeling that.

What I will say is that I am drinking my usual cider in half-pint(ish) as opposed to pint glasses, and it has taken me about three hours just to drink two and a bit of these small glasses of my favourite tipple. I would normally almost have gotten through a 2L bottle in that time so I think so far, although I probably will drink more, we can call day one a success.

Will pop in with another update probably on Monday at some point.

Your reaction to nal sounds really hopeful VI. I look forward to following your progress.
