So i finished my first week of TSM. I wasnt able to up my dose of nal to 50mg yet, still struggling a bit with side effects, but they got better as the week went on. I was pretty tired all week, but its been worth it. Heres my numbers for my first week on 25mg of nal.

Pre TSM: 65-70 units per week 0 AF

Week 1: 42 units 0 AF

The number of units got lower each day as the week went on, maybe because i was getting increasingly tired as the week went on, but last night i only had three beers.....and slept ok. Thats the fewest beers ive had in one session for a long time. Im going to keep at it, and hope to bump my dose this upcoming week.

Good work, Norman!

Your experience thus far is quite typical as you enter into the "Nal Honeymoon" period. Like all honeymoon's, it will end, and you might see your drinking go back up somewhat, but that TOO is part of the Naltrexone journey, which means...it's working for you!!!

Hope the side effects subside soon, they are not comfortable--we know! But for most they do pass fairly quickly. If you increase to the 50 mgs you may have a couple more days of discomfort, but hang in there, it's worth it!

All the best to you. Keep us posted. We're rooting for you!!!

Awesome Norman.

The first 2-3 weeks seem to see the worst side effects. Things will get better.

Put your head down and plow forward. You are on your way to success.

So, i finished up week 2 on TSM. Still taking 25mg of nal. Most side effects are gone, exceot bad fatigue, usually the day after. But not something i cant fight through, and seems to be getting better. Still seeing results on the 25mgs, so thats good. Hope to bump up to 50 mgs as soon as im feeling ready.

Pre TSM 65-70 units per week 0AF

Week 1: 42 0AF
Week 2: 36 0AF

I definitely notice myself thinking less about drinking. Still drinking of course, but definitely much less of a thrill and highlight of my day, which is great. Keep you posted.

Good work Norman! Another thing to do during all this tsm effort, is to think hard as to "why" you drink. It's become a daily habit. Why? How did you get started? Think about your "relationship" to alcohol. Figuring this part out is a huge piece of breaking the daily vicious drinking cycle...in addition to eliminating the high using Naltrexone.

Best of luck.
