How many of you are having worse hangovers with NAL? They are worse than pre THM for me. They seem to invoke a very strong feeling of self-loathing & guilt. Not so much that I feel physically ill, more of a head game. And it occurs on much less AL than before. Much less. Is this a good sign or what? Anyone care to comment. I'd love to see if it's happening to more of you now that your' on Nal.

Yes, definitely. I never much got hangovers before. It definitely helps to make me think - cause I'm still not trusting myself - to ask the question am I willing to take that 1st drink, just in case I want more, can I handle a hangover/wasted morning tomorrow?

I got hangovers before, but I think they are much worse with Nal. If I only have a few drinks (up to 4 or 5), I am fine. But if I exceed that, I really pay for it. It does make me think hard about whether I can afford to be down the next day, in a way I didn't (perhaps more clarity?) before. The hangover is definitely a deterrent.

Jim Clark said once, and I agree ... kinda Clockwork Orange-y!

I never had this problem. Not rubbiong it in, Just posting this so people realize this is not necessarily part of the price of admission. I'm sorry y'all are having worse ones. I've only had a few bad hangovers since starting TSM. It's almost as if they are milder for me, but that may just be due to the fact that i drink a lot less.

I can only speak from very limited experience, but my first hangover on Nal was twice as bad as without. Two days later and I'd rather not drink than have that feeling again. I'm a little worried that I need to reduce to 12.5 mgs because it was soooo bad. I'm also curious as to whether or not this subsides after taking the drug a little more often.

Been on TSM since 6-11. Same problem still. I also feel "is it even worth it to take drink "1? I'm not trying to discourage ANYONE. Like they say we're all different & things affect some differntly than others. I'm not quiting because of a nasty hangover. Being eventually sober is my goal & i'm not whimping out when I know the end result will be worth it.
Thanks for at least letting me feel I'm not alone
ALWAYS, JANE

i'm one who never got hangovers before nal. since being on it i have had a couple that put me completely out of commission for a whole day. even with fewer units, i notice a mild hangover on some days. i agree that it is a little clockwork orange. makes me think twice before drinking the amount i used to.

I too got worse hangovers on Nal. I was pretty careful even prior to Nal because I would get bad hangovers but they were MUCH worse on Nal. Now when I drink (seldom) I'm VERY conscious not to have more than 2. Even sipping on that 3rd one makes me suffer the next day.

I don't mind that too much because it does make me think: "do I really need this drink now or I did I reach for it automatically - maybe I'll wait for a special occasion, or at least until I'm drinking some really nice stuff!!!"

That's a worthy goal though for you folks who want to continue to drink but at levels that make sense for you: what is the level I can drink at that does not make me suffer the next day - maybe that's your goal? Just a thot.

I think my goal is leading to total abstinence. After all I let alcohol do to me in the past, I hate it. Of course, I did it to myself, now I must work thru those damn triggers. Yesterday AM I had a BANGING headache. Pre Nal, I would drink into oblivion & be at work for 4AM to unload Postal trucks. Don't know how I did it. Anyway, bad H.O'S or not, I'm here for the duration. It's all good.
ALWAYS, JANE
