So I started TSM a week ago, before I started I don't really know how much I drank since it was never constant. I would have some AF days followed by binges of 20 units. I have an awful habit of drinking inappropriately - at work, in public, etc. I'm worried that the sinclair method won't be of much help to me in these high-risk binge situations as I'm not willing to continue them in order to train my brain. Does any one have any advice? I guess I'll just have to go with some good ol' willpower.

Anyway, my first week went well - no major binges: 2, 3, 7, 4, 8, 6, 3 for a total of 33 - I guess that's not too bad. I think just the fact that I have to plan my drinking an hour in advance will help me to keep things under control.

I'm sure I'm in the famous "honeymoon period" since I really do seem to feel different. I am clearer when I drink and I don't get that first drink rush that I like so much. Although I know this will take some of my drinking experience away from me, I'm really looking forward to being cured of my alcoholism. I'm more hopeful than I've been in years.

Yeah, the honeymoon period is great. At some point you realize that you're actively trying to squelch something that, right or wrong, has given you quite a bit of pleasure in the past. Even though I feel like I'm making progress, I'm still having mixed feelings about leaving alcohol's sphere of influence. But ultimately I'm looking forward to having more control over it. Looks like you're doing really well toward that goal.
