Now what is the story about ever hooking-up with a tee-totaler!! These guys come up with "I don't alcohol at all" on their profiles and I am like...nip/nope/nada

Marby,

Good to see your update. You and I seem to be on a similar track.

It is really amazing how The Sinclair Method just kind of quietly works on you isn't it? There are days I feel depressed about drinking or mad at myself, then I look at where I was 2 months ago and can't believe the change.

We aren't out of the woods yet, be we sure as hell have this thing on the ropes.

There is no doubt in my mind now how powerful this is.

Keep it up!

Thanks so much both of you!

I had one of my more difficult days yesterday and began drinking at 2 pm, however I still only had 4 all day- that is so amazing for me.

Houtx- it is really odd that I have been 8 years with a non-drinker...my previous BFs have all been addicted or heavy drinkers, when this one told me he didn't drink I just assumed he was recovering! I mean EVERYBODY round here drinks!

Fortunately we do have other interests in common.

I have always worked very long hours, and when I was still working in bars he would be asleep when I came in, so I suppose lots of times he has missed the absolute worse of it. He is not very good at discussing things, I mean not anything, and although this used to bother me it doesn't anymore, our relationship is quite strange, but at the end of the day I suppose we make each other happy or we wouldn't still be here :)

Hey Marbella,

Long time no speak. That is interesting re your partner being a non-drinker. Mine is doing the Sinclair method with me. So we couldnt be more different in that respect! Your doing so well on your progress. My week 4 was a littel average as you'll see from the below but I am OK with that. I will keep the faith.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Cash!

Good to see you! I was wondering how you were doing- I did email you via the board- I don't know if you received it.

It would be nice to have someone to do this with- but on the other hand I have been very thankful many times that he is a non-drinker, my drinking caused enough bother to last a lifetime, without him getting in on the act too!

Keep the faith! I have had bad days during this process too- I am very sensitive to meds, and think it is working very fast for me for that reason.

Thanks OO!!

I didn't do an update this week as there is nothing much to report- drink levels are still low, but I am struggling to have an AF day. I think I am letting things get to me, and I do have some financial stuff that is maybe making me want a drink.

But I won't fight it, as long as I take the Nal, I have a lot of trouble drinking more than 3 drinks, and I can't get into much trouble on that!

Hey Marb,

Just wote a long message and lost the thing. So briefly - I was in a cycle of relying on the NAL and knowing I could have a drink. That meant no willpower. HAve just managed with hubby to have 4 AF days and think now that I have broken the cycle it will be easier so have more AF days occasionally. It broke the mindset totally. I think you get to a point where you have to use some will power too. I think you sound way stronger than me and bet you can easily do 1 day AF. That will be such a buzz and motivator for you. And the A days were actually not that hard. I didn't take NAL but I can tell it has already made a difference - I wasn't struggling at all.

So come on Marb - you can do one - I know you can. Just one will such a positive. I am not trying to preach (hope itn't coming across like that ) but I just know you can do it. We are at a similar stage and so I think we have shared similar experiences. I find a cup of tea helps actually. So 20 cups of tea instead or 50 i you need. Come one!
We feel like we know you so well from here.
Any one else bet Marb can do one AF day......
