Minneapolis Nick,

I realize that your passion for TSM is strong, but you need to also understand how your tone can be interpreted when people only have text to go on. I've read several posts where you feel people have misunderstood your tone, and I was a bit taken aback by the whole "you do the cost benefit analysis" line.

I realize you are here to help, but you need to learn to double check your tone and attitude when responding. Nal may have been your savior, but doesn't mean other people taking in aren't free to express concerns and doubts.

Oops, sorry for the bad tone. You are making progress and the peaks and valleys are part of the process.

I'm going to chime in here because I just read through your entire thread and have been spending some time catching up with other's more recent threads. I didn't/don't find Nick's tone to be abrupt at all, just very objective but also supportive. I can recall wanting the method to start working yesterday, and 6 months to a year seemed like forever 6 months ago. It's not just defending the method, it's also being sensitive to people bitching about its imperfections (and I'm not saying that's what you were doing) when the alternatives are so much worse. For many people here TSM represented the last hope (I know it did for me, I was drinking myself literally to death and could not stop) so the ups and downs are relatively minor in the big picture. My take on Nick's feedback is that he's coming from the perspective of big picture, which is so important to have when struggling in the early months. Not trying to preach but I did want to speak on Nick's behalf as a veteran grateful for his perspective.

Thanks for the response, I think everyone gets a little touchy at times esp with this method. I think it will be healthy for me in the long run for sure, but I am admittedly a brat and was feeling a little bitchy/depressed. I am consistently awed by the reverence people have for the pill. Hopefully one day I can get there.

Hi all,

Been a while since I've posted, I've only had one bad night in about two weeks. I had a work outing that involved booze all day long then came home to drink. Tremendous nal hangover the next day. However one bad night in two weeks is not bad at all.

The other day was the first time I had the sensation that my wine tasted horrible. I'm taking this as a sign of the next step hopefully!

Thanks for all the love and support from everyone on the board. I've gone from 1-2 bottles a night to around 1/2 bottle or so a night with some AF days sprinkled in. I feel good, but realize I'm not over the battle yet. I will count on more support from this board to help me to my eventual goal: regained control.

Nice progress. You are certainly responding and responding more quickly that older people on the board.
Just keep following the rule and you'll get there.

80's - That is awesome progress. It seems you are responding quickly. Maybe your short time of drinking will prove to decrease the time for you to regain control! Good for you.

Hello everybody.

I am very happy to report that I have regained control of my drinking thanks to TSM. For over a month now my drinking has become a non-issue for me. I drink two or three days a week and have a few glasses of wine. Gone are the days of one bottle minimum per day. Just before TSM I was frequently drinking two bottles a day.

TSM worked very quickly for me. I am only 26 and have only been drinking heavily for the past few years. TSM worked for me after 3 or 4 months. My daily cravings to drink are gone. I no longer drink alone. I drink socially at safe levels.

I won't be posting here any more but I wanted to thank the people on the board who offered me support along my TSM journey.

80s baby, I am so glad that you have had such rapid success with TSM. However,I think it would be helpful for the rest of us if you checked in periodically! Obviously if you don't want to do so that's cool, but it's always nice to have happy stories and news :)
As well, if some hidden trigger rears its head and you want to talk about it on the forum....we're still here :)
