I just tuned into a radio show called Break Through Addiction Recovery Hour. http://www.breakthroughaddictionrecovery.com/. It is on 920 AM WGKA in Atlanta. They are talking about the “memory of addiction”. They use the term pharmacological memory. I thought that this is the perfect segue for the Sinclair Method.

Though they were saying all lines are open, and again I was told I would be next, they just put three callers in ahead of me. They are running out the clock and it is 3:58 PM.

They are signing off! They want me to stay on to talk about enrolling in Break Through Addiction Recovery.

The show is over. I was just told they were interested and would call me back off air. I agree. I am waiting.

Ring!

The host, Brian Fujii has just called me back. I asked if he knew what The Sinclair method was. He said he thought it was rapid detox. I laughed and told him that he could not be more wrong. I then went on and explained pharmacological extinction. He acted ignorance to the idea although he is a psychologist. Now get this, the show topic was “pharmacological memory” but he acted like he never heard of pharmacological extinction. So I explain to him in detail the process I am using. I tell him diminished desire for alcohol. I ask if he has ever heard of the COMBINE study and he says ‘No’. I tell him to go to ShrinkWrap radio and download Sinclair’s podcast. We talk for about 10 minutes. I explain that I have a backround in addiction treatment and a BS in psych. He is curious if I am working in a recovery center now. I tell him no.

He congratulates me with my success and says he would look into the Method and it may be something they could use. (Right!) I ask if I could call back in to the radio show next week. He says that he thinks I am too controversial. I tell him that controversy is where the ratings are at. He laughs and wishes me luck and hangs up.

This made me mad...what is wrong with these people that they won't even let you on to share your experience?

Well I know what is wrong- there's no money in the method. Makes me more determined to get it out there.

It seems to me the alcohol addiction industry is more f***** up than the majority of people it's trying to help. When will this treading on eggshells mentality end and serious debate begin? Very well done for trying though SR. You are a braver man than I.
