At what point in TSM is it recommended that we attempt AF days? And any tips for those AF days? Anything else I should know?

Thanks.

Hi, I just a month in (even though I've taken Naltrexone the wrong way for 10 months before).

My first AF Day was last week, actually it was Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Why? The hangover's have been getting worse & worse and Thurday morning after 9 standard drinks Wed night was about to put me over the edge. For the first time the thought of taking a drink was like not wanting to eat something that made me puke. So I waiting until a craving occured. That happened Sunday evening, so I took a Nal and had 4 beers over 3 hours. Even that Monday morning made me feel sick. I think I am progressing very rapidly. Maybe because I took the Nal daily since Oct last year AF until June. But I took it from June until I discovered TSM Sept 16.

I actually think that this is proof it works. I didn't have to consciously dictate that today will be AF. I just didn't feel like having a drink. Actually Friday night I wanted a Hershey bar & Hot Cocoa. On a Friday night?

I have told no one but 'you' on this board that I am doing this. I want evidence first of more than a month to show others. Even my wife.

I am 54 years old.

There is no set time frame for an AF day. Remember, TSM should require no effort on your part -- no "white knuckling." You should have an AF day when you can go a day without craving a drink. Drink through cravings. If there are no cravings, have an AF day.

I agree. I wouldn't "attempt" AF days - I would just wait until they happen on their own. Remember the alcohol deprivation effect: If you abstain even though you are craving, you are likely to end the AF period with a binge that might be more harmful than just drinking through the cravings.
