I've been pondering this for a few weeks now. Most generics are fine, but maybe switching to the brand name might make a difference for some of us. It'll definitely make a difference in our wallet, though! I take Wellbutrin and the generic version doesn't do a thing for me. I have to use the brand, and pay the big copay.

Just something to consider. Interested to hear what y'all think.

I've recently moved from Nodict (from India via River) to Nalorex (UK prescription) and don't notice any difference in the effect on my drinking. If anything the Nalorex seems slightly more subtle, in that I don't notice I have taken 'something' so much - it's hard to put your finger on, I just noticed the Nodict slightly more, somehow.

Not sure that that helps, but I thought I might as well contribute what little I have.

I take generic nal and it seems to be working fine. I also take gen wellbutrin and it does alright for me. It might have some effect?? I have never really run into a problem with generics. It may have to do with time on the shelf or something like that. Dunno.

H4B -

I started out with Nordict because I was getting mine from River. It was costing me a lot of money. 2 months ago I convinced my therapist and doctor to let me try Nal under the guise that I wasn't drinking and would use it for craving control. My therapist referred to both as Naltrexone and Revia - my doctor referred to it has Naltrexone. The pharmacy said Revia was the marketing name in Canada and some parts of the US, but that the actual name of the drug as far as the FDA was concerned was Naltrexone. There is not a generic verison of it available for my pharmacy yet but it is covered by my insurance and it's a low tier priced drug.

My pharmacy fills it with - Naltrexone Hydroclride Tablets, USP 50mg they are light yellow with 6 on one side and the other side has a slit and the # 50 / 902

River fills it with - Nordict is just orangeish yellow with no markings but came in a sealed foil pack with the name on it. (Both my orders were the same drug)

Since I've upped my dose to 75/100 on heavy binge days I take 1 of each or I just take what comes out of the bottle. The foil packs are easier to carry in my purse for my emergency supply.

I had over a 30 day supply from River when I filled my first script so I have both. I haven't noticed a difference in the way I feel or my drinking level.
