We could put it in a sticky. maybe in the "what is sinclair" section, or elsewhere. But I think it would be helpful to the new folks. For instance, I see a lot of them assume AU means alcohol units.

also this sticky could list the different types of units ie: US AU UK and what those units amount to. maybe not really a glossary per-se. but a list of helpful TSM terms and units etc.

I'd be glad to add as many terms as I could think of to this list. like up-regulation, extinction burst, etc.

What'ya think?

A grand idea they have something like this on Moderation Management's site. They even have naltrexone as one of the entries. I'd be glad to help.

Thats a great idea Joe,

Just another thought, what if one were to go a bit beyond that creating not only a Glossary but maybe a helpful reference and resource section that can then be put in PDF, others might be able to print out and hand to someone, like an unofficial supplement to starting this TSM. Kind of like that book, "What to expect when expecting" only what to expect when TSMing. Just a thought, then again, we could just sticky some threads here lol.

that would be rad! but I think a sticky would be a good start. anybody know how to go about this? do any of you admins think this is a good idea? the admins are scarce lately I think because of the "once you're cured, you don't think about this often" thing SO.....if we can't get a sticky going, maybe we could just do a new thread and start from the top and everybody add in the ones they can think of. what you think?

Actually, there is only one admin: N101CS.

There is one moderator: minneapolisnick, who is on sabbatical right now, unfortunately.

Old-timers don't stick around forever. Don't be too hard on us. This is not AA where we must attend meetings or continue with recovery forums for eternity. We get better and eventually move on.

However, it would be nice to have some more admin/moderator involvement. Being a moderator is a very time consuming job, if anybody wants to volunteer.

Bob, didn't mean to rip y'all at all. I meant that i get the fact that once people are cured they forget about this crap whereas with AA you wake up every day and remind yourself that you're an alcoholic. I totally get that now. I didn't used to get it, but the more TSM works, the more I understand that. anyway, I'd be glad to volunteeer. I'm here enough already, but I'm not cured yet so maybe that would be like the inmates running the asylum? The volunteering thing is a serious offer though. and I really appreciate your coming around here. It really gives us a boost when cured folk come back and check in. Even if it's just every now and then

My posts always sound sterner than I intend them to sound. It must be the writing style I am accustomed to at work.

It's difficult to describe the feelings I have coming back to this forum, when I can't even relate anymore to what I just went through over a year ago. I come back here because I have a personal commitment to report my situation through 21 months. My wife wants me to move on now. I owe her that after what alcohol has done to our marriage. She bristles every time she sees I am posting here. She knows I want to help others, but our marriage comes first and she is right. So, there is only 3 months more of me being here and I don't post as often as I used to.

Other cured people have similar situations. They are not being selfish. Most go through the "shout-it-from-the-rooftops" phase, only to be faced with the reality that the general population does not listen to the truth. This reality about the human condition crushes your initial enthusiasm. That coupled with your new life with your family, friends and workmates is overwhelming. So, we fade back into mainstream life like good social creatures.

Regarding volunteering, PM N101CS, the sole Administrator and owner of this site. In my opinion, this forum needs help.

Bob
