Hello. I found this site from the discussions over on soberrecovery. I'm interested in any method to stop drinking. I'm not in a position to pick and choose or get into arguments about which way is best. I just want to know what works. I'm willing to work hard and pursue any method that will work for me, but I want to put my effort where it has the best chance of long term success.

From reading here, TSM sounds great. But I have a couple questions. How many of you have been sober for multiple years using TSM? What else did you try before trying TSM?

Thanks.

This is a tricky question to post here as TSM is a relatively new method and one that aims to bring levels of drinking back to safe levels OR absitinence through the extinction of an individual's addiction to alcohol using medication. The extinction process takes from 3 to 6 months depending on the person, and it is a different journey for each person, and depending on whether the individual's goal is abstinence or to drink at safe levels. For some very heavy, long term drinkers, the process may even take longer. So, most of the people posting on this board are still in the process of their journey with TSM, like myself.

Welcome Digger. This board will be seven months old next week. Eskapa's book was published about a year ago. I don't know how many people in this country would have learned of TSM before that.

Mclanet spoke in his posts of a friend who has been sober with TSM for several years. Beyond that, most of us know only about the many thousands in Finland who have been cured for years, thanks to Dr. Sinclair's work there. You can read about them in the introductory topics on the board index.

Beyond that the best advice we can give you is to "just do it."

Best wishes.
